aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

wolf

The female had fallen back into the cold arms of depression. It was not something that she was foreign to, and it was something she wished would not happen to her again. But here she was, not sleeping anymore, hardly eating, letting herself become worse and worse with time. The last time she had been this upset she had wasted away to almost nothing. If it had not been for her friends Kalgalath and Magic she surely would have died. They had given her what she needed to live, love and hope. They told her how it would get better and that she was still loved despite her mate leaving her, twice. But that had been years ago and she no longer thought of him, no longer was missing him or sad because of him. No, this time it was different. It was a different pain that she had not experienced before. Chenzii had not thought it would be possible to love another being as she had loved before, but pups were something entirely different. It was not the same kind of love one felt towards a mate or a lover. It was its own special kind of love, love that covered you in its warm embrace and made the world feel right. The two pups had filled holes in Chenzii that she did not even know existed.

And now they were gone, and the holes had been ripped into her heart all over again. When she thought of the terrible death that had taken over her little girl, it felt like her heart was ripping open all over again. Why had she not been there to protect her? Would she have even been able to do anything after Vita had been bit by the snake? Maybe she could have seen it coming, let the snake get her instead of her little girl. But she had not been there. A part of her wished she could blame Hellene who had been there, the female was teaching her daughter how to become a healer. But She knew that it was in no way Hellene’s fault and could not blame her for things that were out of her control. Chenzii did not think things could get any worse, but when Vita’s brother, Mortem, found out what had happened to his sister he fled from the pack. The female had thought that the two would be able to turn to each other for comfort, but that had not been the case and now she was entirely alone again. And she felt like she had no reason to go on anymore.

And that was when the female realized she needed help. She was not yet to the point of no return, like she had almost come to once before. Sure she was not as healthy as she usually was, her normally thick shiny black pelt was dull and starting to matt in some areas. Her usually bright and excited yellow orbs were a dull, lifeless shade. Her spirit was dying, but it was not yet dead. Heavy paws forced her to get op, to move out of the den, to find Kal. The grey wolf had been the first varg she met in Blossom and had been her first friend. He was the one who had greeted her upon joining and had accepted her into his pack. If anyone could help her, it would be him. Her nares searched for his scent, and it was easy to pick up, but he was always on the move and she had to find the freshest one. The alpha must be doing a border patrol because his scent was strongest along the border. Her form walked slowly, trying to find him, not thinking about anything else.

Suddenly, Kal’s scent was stronger than anywhere else, and she looked up and saw his form, standing at the edge of the trees. Chenzii continued to push herself forward, basically tumbling into him to stop her bodice from moving. A whine escaped her throat before she finally looked over his shoulder and saw that they were not alone. She had interrupted something! Embarrassment overwhelmed her and she quickly back peddled, stepping away from the alpha’s form awkwardly. ”Kal…I’m…sorry.” She stumbled the words out. How awkward was this, she was his Beta and here she was making a complete fool of herself in front of a stranger! Yellow orbs looked apologetically to her friend before turning to the unknown male. ”I did not mean to interrupt your meeting.” She mumbled out the words, shaking out her pelt and head to try and clear her mind. She had to focus. Chenzii was a mess, but she needed to change gears and act professional around this stranger, for the sake of Kal and the pack. ”I am Chenzii by the way. I am terribly sorry for my rudeness…I have…not been myself lately.” Her vocals trailed off, embarrassment making her skin feel hot and uncomfortable.

"We were never meant to last," She whispers.
