By nature, he had never been an ignorant creature. Focused, yes, and so, he had been unaware of his quiet follower. Had he known however, he likely would have continued nonetheless, the allure of the darkness stronger than his curiosity about his own kind. However, his staring had been interupted by the sound of claws nonetheless. They clacked and scraped along the stone and though he did his best to ignore them and continue into the darkness below, he could not ignore the shadow of another that passed above him. Dark and sudden, she blocked the sun and with it, his head turned stiffly to the side for a moment; a single ear twisted towards her, a blood-orange eye following suite to watch her from his peripherals.
She did not move though and she did not speak. It was uncommon, that was, and so, he found himself curious enough to turn entirely to face her; his head tilted back and to the side, a silent inquiry, as she stood above him. He remained silent as he appraised her for several moments, absorbing all that he could from her; adult, female, not from a pack but not quite alone. Curious. Elohim himself had barely begun to grow into his adolescent, the spring bringing him to his third year; his legs had remained awkwardly long and yet, he had begun to fill out into something akin to adulthood. He could not conceal that youth however and he did not make an effort to. His youth, after all, ensured others underestimated him to an extent, be they aware of it or not.
He moved almost mechanically as his head tilted to its opposite axis, his tail issuing a single wave of greeting. Still, he made no effort to approach or clamber back up the rocks; in fact, an ear had remained twisted towards the cavern behind him, fixated on the rythm of the water flowing below. His eyes, however, had not left her own since they had found the green of them. She was a stranger and he, a curious creature. Yet, he had never been the one to make the first move. Instead, he merely posed himself in such a way that would at least seem inviting enough - odd, perhaps, but friendly enough at least.
