Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

One day it was very likely their adventures would get them into trouble. Either a reprimand from Father, who seemed to be forever watching them, or from her various caretakers. Until that day, the creamy gold pup was more than happy to continue to poke through the world. It seemed as though it was something Veli was determined to make her do anyway. Giggling softly, Solstice bound after the agile rabbit, every movement she made at least a foot away from the hare to ensure she would not hurt it. Together they vined through the forests of Tavioria, one a natural born streak, the other given the gift of dance from her father. Silver and gold jumped, twisted, twined, and played. A child’s laughter filled the air, flowing smoothly over the fresh snow.

Little notice was observed when she passed over the border of Tavioria. She was to used to adventuring from her homeland with her father, that it was the other packs she knew to avoid. As she often did, when they crossed over into ‘loner’ territory, Solstice let Veli take the lead. It allowed her to keep an eye on the silver and white rabbit, easily able to protect him from other wolves who did not see him as the brother he was.

Snow covered the terrain. When rabbit and wolf paws found the ice of the river, both skittered across the slick surface with surprised squeals that turned into peels of glee. In an instant their fear turned to fun and they began to chase each other over the ice. No cares in the world, particularly cares about how strange they looked, the predator and prey played a game of tag together.

Overhead a shadow passed over the sun for the briefest of moments. Hot and cold eyes looked up at the raven. She shifted slightly and and saw the silver form of a wolf resting on a large rock. Her tail swayed in a gentle wag and the nearly year old pup yapped a distant greeting. Hello! She called cheerfully. Come play with us!
