aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

The pair were utterly still in the abysmal darkness, alone. Vladimir's eyes, dilated as they were, could see only the outline of Seraphina, and so he had to rely on his other senses in order to feel his surroundings. And though he wanted to remain silent and hide from the demons, and also find his brother, he could focus only on the fact that he had been a huge jerk face to Seraphina. It had not been her choice to come to these lands - in fact she had seemed to resent it when her sister had dumped her on the doorstep of the pack. And yet he had insulted her over and over again, not only offending her, but insulting both of his parents as well. For they had taught both Vladimir and Castiel how to respect others, and yet Vladimir had this deepest trait of mistrust that he could not shake. And, unfortunately, he had taken it out on this faeling beside him. The princeling sighed deeply as she leaned against him for support, for comfort and managed to eek out a smile even though she would not be able to see it, and pulled on her tail gently with his reassuringly before he apologized to her. He was reassured when she bumped against him and whispered in response. 'And I’m sorry I thought you were mean. Of course we can be friends forever. You’ll be my first one. After all, you’re pretty cool too Vladimir.'

For the first time in his life, he blushed, but it went sight unseen and he scuffed the ground in front of him with one of his paws. "Aw, Seraphina you don't have anything to apologize for, I was mean and I shouldn't have. It's all my fault." He moved away from her for a moment to try to peer at her, but failed and instead bumped against her shoulder as she had to his. "I'm glad we can be friends forever. But what are we going to do when your sister takes you away? We will never see each other any more? How can you keep being friends with someone if..." His words, already a whisper, faded away into nothing as she failed at trying to get words out of his mouth. "I just...I don't know... Nevermind it's stupid..." His last few words were quiet, were silent, hardly more than a murmur as a soft Whomp signaled Castiel's appearance, and of his bumping into Seraphina's chest.

'So, uh, now that I’ve found you guys, let’s stick together. Okay? I’m not leading this little gravy train through the dark… so what is the plan from here?' Vladimir's mind immediately left his current train of thought and reverted back to their current predicament. While Sera told Castiel to link up with them, Vladimir sat in silence, thinking about their situation, wanting to have an answer to that very question. 'This was your idea so you can be the leader. Where do we go from here?' Vladimir shook his head - he did not know what to say. They had two choices, clearly, but which was the right path to take?

If they stayed in this cave, there was a chance that they would get lost. And no one in the pack knew where they were, so they would essentially be dead. It would not be a game any more - instead it would be real life. And if one of them were to get hurt? They were still in the weakest and most awkward stage of their lives, they could hardly carry their own weight, there was no way that they could carry one another. And yet there was a chance for adventure, something that Vladimir could not deny a yearning for. Pups loved each chance for adventure, and Vladimir was no different. What if they found secret pathways? What if this place became a hideaway all their own? They could leave here, for the demons were likely gone... But what if they weren't? They had run all this way, and Vladimir was exhausted - the others must be as well! And so Vladimir began to nod his head, until he convinced himself of what they were to do. "Okay. We can't leave until we rest and collect our breaths... But we shouldn't explore too deep in here without Mom and Dad knowing that we are here. So. We will explore... Together... And stick to one wall. If we stick to the wall then we can't get lost? Right?" Vladimir started to pull them toward the far right wall, walking confidently but in truth he was terrified of possibly falling into a hole, or running into a cave monster... and breathed a heavy sigh of relief when his nares came in contact with the damp wall. "See....? That wasn't... So... Hard..."
