Although she was an Alpha she was a Mother, and a Mother is always, always concerned for her own kind. She cared for Raven in her own way, the girl cursed not just by the mark that plagued her pack, but also by her own Father- she was weak. The Monster did all she could for her first born and although bringing her up in a harsh manner may be frowned upon by some, her daughter had risen high in the ranks and actually became something important within her own pack. She was proud and pleased. Now that she had new children she would raise them as best as she could, teaching the two of them, so that one day both would be prepared to run their own pack. Only one of them would obtain the fields from her and she was still leaning more towards her daughter finding it far better that her little girl remain here rather than her brother. Her son was far too intelligent and far too perfect to remain here and that she thought he would rather enjoy the challenge to take on his own pack and make his own paw prints. He was special to her, just as Nevermore was, and deep down the Monster loved them dearly. With that love comes the natural need to protect her own, and although they were half way to becoming adults, she was quite concerned with her daughter and this particular new golden fur boy.
Patiently she waited for the young boy to come. When she first met the boy she was rather surprised with how articulate and the way he conducted himself, the boy quite clearly a good friend for her son. Though she was shocked to see that it was not Gunsynd that was delighted with the boy, rather it was her daughter that seemed to hang on his every word. The girl hardly one to leave his side, especially when it came to lessons the Monster wished to have with her children and no one else. However, if Rhett was going to stick around and continue being close to her children then she would need to make a decision on what to do about it. As he walked up the grassy knoll, she watched the boy carefully, her banner flicking to the side in response to his small bow. Dark sapphire eyes looked into the boy’s emerald eyes for a moment, studying him for a moment, looking for any signs of weakness or worry, it was natural to feel that way being near her. Without beating around the bush she spoke softly, her cold voice slithering out ever so carefully, as she began this rather interesting interrogation.
“You have been here for over a year now and you remain quite attached to my daughter. It is no surprise she is quite charmed by you. You are well aware how she is, so tell me, what are your intentions with her? You are obviously quite different...so why do you stay with her, why stay here?”
