aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

╪╬POISE╬╪

Slowly the world had gone silent, once more. Everything became blanketed into a gentle sheet of white, fluffy snow. The sounds of the forest became muffled, and even the prairie went silent. The falls froze over and the lakes solidified through and through. It was winter time. A time a silent beauty, glistening and cold beauty. A harsh beauty, because for all its magnificence winter was the hardest season of the year. And for the younger wolves of the world this meant their skills were either put to the test or they fell back upon the strength of their elders or parents. Prey became scarce, as did most other supplies like herbs and various berries that a wolf could feast on most other times of the year. Pups were coddled by their mother and father. So the beauty of winter remained intact and still serene. For the adolescent youth of the woods the story could be much different. For the world was a cruel place of its own accord. Some children became estranged with no mother or father to support them. Each had their own story and for some it was short lived and others it would become a tale they told into their elder years. It just depended on the strength of heart and will.

Curled away in the depths of the woods, but outside of his birth place, was a young, white wolf. The puppyish fur that had once covered the entirety of his body was shed away and replaced with a plush robe of alabaster furs. The small, frightened child had grown up into a gangly, dispirited adolescent. The constant of his was the piercing, electric blue eyes that seemed to stare into the depths of your soul. His figure was curled tightly against the back wall of a shallowly dug den, and his tail curled over the tip of his nose keeping the air that flowed into his lungs warm just so he might not feel the chilling bite inside of himself. Sin needed no help in feeling the cold, for his heart was sheathed in ice and surrounded by stone. Nothing did anything for him. No one did anything for him, because eventually they all left him in the dust, and in their memory.

Sin was nothing but a fleeting ghost.

Even Adara had left him. The only woman who had ever shown a sliver of kindness to him or motherly affection. Her silvery figure so much like his father’s, for they were siblings, had risen one morning and dissipated into the mist never to return. Or so he thought, but over the silent song of the wintry air a singular, recognizable howl rang out. Adara had returned, but nonetheless late. For time had gone on and Striker had left, Sin was homeless, and his father was nowhere to be found. What more could go wrong? Slowly, gangly limbs crawled across the earth pulling the ghost from his lair. He did not hurry towards the sound as he would have as a child, instead his limbs trudged through snow like plows and his crown drooped steadily lower until his nares hung just above the chilling white drifts. His electric azures looked forward for signs of Adara and not long after he came across her snowy tracks. So he followed them slowly, not truly caring where it was that he was going.

Time passed and snow began to fall steadily as he plodded after his aunt, his pace picked up ever so slightly to make sure he kept sight of her tracks. She had after all called for him and as much as he did not want to go, he had nothing better to do and would have felt guilty for not showing. So here he was going somewhere, and eventually it started to fit piece by piece where that was. Adara and Aindreas were the children of Kalgalath. And he was the Alpha of Aurora Borealis. So it was none other than Aurora Borealis’ borders that Sin soon found himself upon, and already at them were Adara and her father, who was accompanied by a young boy like himself. And the sound of rustling brush alerted Sin to the arrival of more wolves. Sin picked up his crown a tad bit and lifted his stature to an appropriate standard, before fully approaching his family. Though he said nothing of any kind as he pulled up next to Adara and sat down. His electric azures just stared blankly into the snow at his paws.
