He was nervous here. The male had been improving, albeit slowly, but the wide, yawning mouths of the caverns brought everything back to him, a rushing whirlwind of emotion that left him spinning. It had been so long since he had heard the voices or seen the visions, but now they were whispers in his ears, flashes at the corners of his eyes. Jaeger tried to push them away, but his head was throbbing painfully, seemingly emanating from the scar that adorned his forehead. He closed his violet eyes and slowed his breathing, trying to calm himself and ultimately failing. His eyes opened and panic began to set in- where had his mother gone? She had been right there- right in front of him!
His breath grew heavy and quick, the whites of his eyes showing and betraying his panic that was quickly spiraling out of control. And then the voice came, female, but certainly not his mother- and the words that it spoke only served to make him even more irrational. Jaeger spun around just in time to catch the woman's leap, her jaws wide and gaping like the mouths of the caves that surrounded them. There was a split second where he froze up, fear and panic overtaking his body and mind. But he snapped out of it. No. This was not going to happen again, he was no longer a victim. His father had trained him to be strong and courageous, his mother agile and merciless.
Jaeger let out a savage snarl. He rose to meet her, rearing up and aiming to latch on to whatever he could to tear her down from the air and cut her leap short. He was not going to let someone else terrorize him today. The male was going to fight, and he was going to win- fear would not take control.
