Stopping his laughter had been a challenge. The way she had responded to his own "little" game was unexpected, but nonetheless amusing. When he did turn to face her, the male was meet with something unexpected.

Anger.

The female had her eyes narrowed in his direction, pools of seemingly molten silver. The glare had burned into him, catching him completely off guard.

He watched at the female turned and began to briskly walk off, leaving him to gape at her. As she got farther away, he watched as her shoulders slumped. A panic set through him as he watched the smaller wolf leave. He had merely wanted to mess with the female, not drive her away. He realized how inconsiderate it must have been to laugh at her. She had been nothing but nice since they met, even warning him to be careful how he chose his prey. All he'd managed to do was make her uncomfortable, and angry.

His tail drooped down, soon followed with his attitude. The she-wolf had been the first contact he'd made in a long time. One that hadn't intended to hurt him right off the bat. It had been so long that the saddened wolf couldn't even remember, and the male had all but ruined it. His lack of contact had made him act inappropriately, and internally he was joyed to have met another. But his first impression showed nothing of the sort, only that he was far too assertive, and rude.

The male found he had been hurt, but only due to himself. He didn't want to be alone once again, and he had a chance not to be, if only for a little at least. But that chance was slowly roaming away. He couldn't bring himself to watch her go. Maybe he should have stayed put, let the incident pass over him and got back to being alone, but he couldn't. His feet were slowly bring him forward, then going into a trot to make up for lost time. He wouldn't end it like that, part of him couldn't let it. At the least he wanted to correct his blunder.

He watch as the female drew near once again, but his brain had struggled to make an apology suitable in the short time span. He caught up too soon, only barely stopping in time before crashing into the female. This close his mind drew a blank, and he simply stood there dejected without a word.
