Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

Family was the center of all my love. Our parents had been kind and loving. I remember times when we had all romped together, thrilled and delighted at the play of our parents. I remember the way we had piled into the den with legs splayed and heads nestled into crooks so that one could not discern where black ended and white began. My childhood had been a joyous occasion, marred only a little by my frightening and harrowing experiences. To this day I grew nervous around large rushing rivers for the memory of Thor struggling with the current and the pain of capturing and saving him stayed with me. Swimming had never been my strong suit which was rather embarrassing when living in a sea side pack, although I hadn't had much call to do it either. My calling was herbs and plants. Healing and life. It gave me purpose in a way that centered me and eased that old burden of fear. I had been a fearful child and remnants still lingered but Thor had taught me much and my own self worth had grown.

He grins at me and I feel a sense of peace in this moment. Finally he is back and that is one of the many things I had wished for when staring at the stars from the edge of the cliffs. They had guided him safely through the world back to me. "The best teaching is one you do on your own but I suppose since you aren't asking to learn I can look out for you." I grin at him teasingly, knowing nothing I had plucked or in the vicinity was of any ill quality. His next question sees my eyes shining with a determined light. He should be proud - he was the reason I had such determination. He had cultivated that flame as pups and I had fanned it fully with age.

"I have been training with another these last few years but he is now gone and it is time for me to earn my rank. I wish to be Witch of Glorall or perhaps take his spot as a Peacemaker using my healing expertise. It is a noble work," I say proudly, remembering words my mother had told me before. She had desired to be a healer once but her paws had led her to different pathes. "That is why I am readying these herbs so that I can fulfill whatever task is needed to prove myself."

For a moment I cast a critical eye at my enormous stash before jerking a nod. "What of you brother? Will you be staying here with me now?" There is a catch in my voice, a tell tell wobble that reveals my urgency in his answer for I could not bear to lose him again when my heart so yearned for those precious faces I had lost.
