Announcements as of July 28, 2021

I have called you, and you have answered my call --

Do not mistake my silence for weakness, my forest kin. For I am willing to defend you with my fangs and claws, until the days come when am no longer able to. Keep an eye on the borders for Zelda and her sister Midna, because I will welcome them back into the flock on the day of their return.

The flood has left our forest home in a sorry state of disarray. I shall not tolerate this. Summer is here and we must rebuild our dens in time for winter. There is a lot of hard and dirty work ahead of us. But we shall face it together, as family, as a pack. Let's get back to work and then we shall hunt. I hunger for a feast.

From your new Alpha --

Moonshade, the Gravekeeper of Moladion

Zelda

Zelda would tell him anything he wanted to know if he asked. There were no secrets there, she was happy to share her part in it, not because she was proud it was just she had nothing to hide. She knew Coza was all about forgiveness, but Aranck was beyond that. It wasn’t even just Moteuh he had killed. He killed Aithne, Moteuh and from the conversation she had with Pine he had raped a woman too. Who knew what else he had done, that was just the stuff she had experienced or been told by Pine and others involved. She had always intended to return his children to him, they just never seemed interested in leaving, that and he never cared to get them back. Regardless of both those things she didn’t regret how she handled it. She couldn’t, she had tried to think everything through best she could. Zelda knew someone somewhere out there would probably be mad, his children most likely, or his mate but it wasn’t just her going after him with justice though. Pine, the previous rulers children, her uncle Halcyon… he earned the ire of otherwise good hearted wolves. He deserved the storm that came upon him.

She didn’t always know what she was doing, she was still new, but she had gentle prods from her father and uncle and now Tithe, Alistiar and her many other ranks too helping her to go in the right direction. Even Dexter she was sure would be invaluable with his help. She trusted the nature of her family above all else. She knew how they all were, it was ingrained in them to be that way it seemed. Even she would be a martyr if it came down to it if it meant her land would safe. While her name sounded so selfish she never thought it really as terrible. It was a name given to her by Hyrule, she simply kept it when it was her time to step up and rule. She saw herself a ‘goddess’ who did whatever she could to protect those in her world and would do anything to help them. Though she knew how it could sound full of herself, she was doing what she could for Taviora. Slowly she was becoming more competent but she knew she was a long way from being the greatest.

His words though sounded harsh, but not unwelcome. For her it was reassurance that someone thought she had done the right thing, but it was from a rather surprising source. Family. She knew Hyrule would have saw fit for him to be gone quickly, but she reminded herself that she was not as familiar with Dexter and his beliefs as she was with the others. ”In this case, yes. He was a storm, it flowed out from him, like a miasma… I could feel it when I met him… never have I felt such a thing even when I met with the Monster of Asteraia and Tobias. He was completely gone, there was no saving him.” She said a bit sadly but she did have nothing but faith in Pine. Like Zelda, Pine would have find her own way and work herself into the paws of her new position, but Zelda though she could do it.

She was happy though that he smiled, she was telling the truth, yet he proceeded to ask her for permission anyway. She gave a clearly girlish giggle and a little shake of her head at his stubbornness, but grinned all the same. ”Of course you are welcome to be a part of Taviora. I would never deny you from our family. I am sure you will be able to help Taviora a lot too.” She says to him hoping that now that was settled he would relax once again in his home. He was born here just as he was, he was family and never would she say family wasn’t welcome here. However the more serious matter was coming up but also something she knew he wanted to help in. She would give him whatever rank that she believed he earned and with her courage on the table as well as the wonder she was pretty sure he fit one better than the other. However depending on how he handled it she knew he would be fit for something even higher than that but time would tell her how her family would work into the grand scheme of their home.

This information was important and something she hadn’t given out yet. A look of understanding, if not approval seemed to touch her uncle’s visage if not for a moment. She didn’t think it was bad, or unnerving, it was almost as though he understood that what she had to do, what part she played was a necessary one even though she hoped something like that would never have had to occur she couldn’t simply turn a blind eye to all the bad he had caused to Moladion. Though she flinched a little at the word vengeance. She didn’t want it to be that, or it to be considered that, but perhaps there was no avoiding that it was what got Zelda truly pursuing the downfall of the male. His blatant dismissal of her death shook her too the core it wasn’t just that he was a monster…

”Mother won’t feel better though. I don’t think his death aided in her recovery at all, it just ended up being what was best for all Moladion.” She said softly feeling a little more unsure of herself if those out there believed it was only that she went after him for. Right now though she needed to solve something else.

He corrected her statement on his desire to find the one who poisoned Amoxtli. It was firm, he wasn’t going to fail as she and Hyrule had. That was good, she wanted this solved just as much as he did, again it was something she wsan’t sure if Amoxtli wanted or needed, but it certainly might bring some peace to him that it wasn’t something likely to happen again, or at least they could find out why they had done it.

”Well, my Wisdom has started your search, but the second part of it is… delicate and may end up fracturing our family more than help it.” She started, ”Alistair is a trustworthy wolf, I believe him he has no reason to lie, he looked into Amoxtli’s poisoning soon after it happened and like Hyrule and I lost the trail until very recently that is.” She took a deep breath before seating herself and standing up anxiously again before pacing slightly. ”I don’t know what to do, how to handle it, but Alistair believes someone in Glorall did it, then what’s more he believes that Eden knows who did it.” Hopefully Dexter could see the gravity of the situation at hand with that statement. Glorall was by blood connected to the forest, though that was even strange in some ways.

”I want to know who did it, more importantly why they did it to uncle Amoxtli. I think that above anything else would bring him peace but to enrage Eden, I am not sure what that would do to mother. I know she cares about him, and he is allowed to freely come to see Shem and Asriel of course they are his children but… I think you understand why this is… different.” She stopped her pacing for a moment looking to her uncle with imploring eyes. ”Do you think you can help Alistair and work this out? If… something bad happens I can’t say I would blame you… just…” Just what? She wondered. Try? Do your best? She guessed she didn’t know what to say. She shook her head no matter what this was a strange if not delicate situation. She wasn’t sure if this was what Dexter had in mind exactly, but she knew he wanted to help the pack.

”Alistair might have more information, if you could meet with him he might be able to answer more questions. I hadn’t told anyone save for you and not sure I should. I don’t want anyone especially Tepi or Teza running off doing something rash… But if you trust to tell others, I trust you.” She says giving him a soft, sad smile letting him know she believed in him. It wasn’t blind trust, but it was trust. Something she easily gave until proved otherwise.

THE FOREST RANKS

THE GRAVEKEEPER

The Alpha Male of Taviora. He will accept all challenges and block any steals. He has taken an oath to protect all within the forest, alive and dead.

THE KEEPER OF SECRETS

This will be Moonshade's chosen co-alpha. They will also be able to accept challanges and steals in order to defend Taviora.

THE KEEPER OF TRUTHS

This rank will belong to the chosen heir of Taviora. This wolf will probably share Moonshade's blood. This rank can be challenged for if you believe that you are a better candidate for the job.

THE FOREST COUNCIL

Although the Alpha's have the final say in all matters, Taviora is still a pack, we are still a community. These wolves are the most senior members of our ranks. Their role is to guide, serve and protect. All of them have earned their place here and they should be respected at all times. Every position on the council can be challanged for by a subordinate pack member. However the council has the right to block a pack member from gaining the position if they have concluded that the individual has placed their own selfish desires before the best interest of the pack as a whole.

THE TUSKS

The packs lead fighter. One of the strongest and bravest in our ranks. They will answer the call to protect the forest if either of the Alpha's are absent.

THE JAWS

The packs head of defence. They are our chief hunter and guardian to all within the forest borders. They know every inch of Taviora and every wolf within.

THE HORNS

The packs most senior teacher. They are responsible for teaching and guiding all of our young and new members so that they will reach their full potential.

THE EYES

The packs trusted informant. This wolf spends a lot of their time outside the forest borders, keeping their eyes, ears and nose peeled for news or potential trouble. Due to the secretive and dangerous nature of this rank, only a wolf that the pack can trust with their lives will obtain this responsibility.

THE DARKDWELLER

This is Taviora’s Head Healer. This wolf is responsible for treating the pack's wounds, injuries and illnesses. They are also expected to be one of the first on scene when a mother goes into labour. Along with their counterpart, The Soothsayer, they will train future healers for the service of our pack and our allies.

THE SOOTHSAYER

This is Taviora’s Head Counselor. Their knowledge of healing and herbal remedies are equal to that of their counterpart, The Darkdweller. This wolf specializes in helping us conquer the unseen demons in our heads and our hearts. They are also expected to help bring all children of the forest safely into this world.

NIGHTWATCHERS

Our trusted packmates that guard the borders while the rest of us sleep safely in our dens. If something is amiss within our lands, they should be the first to intercept any threat and call for back up when needed. Some might not call themselves soldiers, but they will spill blood if push comes to shove.

DAWNSTRIDERS

The most diligent and selfless of our pack. They are up at first light and leave our inner sanctum every few days in search of prey. They hunt far and wide in order to make sure none of us go hungry. While not out hunting, they are free to relax or assist the Nightwatchers, Daylightres or Dawnstriders with their tasks.

DAYLIGHTERS

This group will make up the bulk of our pack, they are our beloved family. They are generalists and commoners who are charged with looking after the most central and sacred parts of our home. Along with The Horns, they are expected to watch out for our children. We are happy to keep all within our ranks that love and respect the forest of Taviora.

DUSKWALKERS

Rumoured to be the most free spirited and independent members of our pack, they guard when no other eyes are available. They wander down all the winding dirt paths and have been known to explore into the freelands. They are envoys and ambassadors who assist The Eyes with their duty of keeping us all safe.

ANCIENT PINES

These wolves are older and have retired from active service. We thank them for all that they have done for our pack, however long or short their tenor was. They shall live out the rest of their years with the best food, shelter and company we can offer them.

THE BRIAR PATCH

This is the name for Taviora’s nursing mothers and their litters of puppies. Once they are born, at least one parent is expected to temporarily step down from their role in order to raise their pups for the first 6 months of their lives. An exemption can be made if another mother is willing to look after the young while the parents resume their service to the pack.

THE SAPLINGS

Too big for the briar patch but not yet old enough to be called a daylighter. These are all puppies between the age of 1 and 3. Pups can start their training from 2 and above if The Horns has found a suitable Mentor for them.

THE WELCOMED

These wolves are welcome within our borders anytime of the day or night. Blocking their access will be met with disapproval and possible punishment.

THE BANISHED

They are enemies of our pack and their presence will not be tolerated within or near our home. Those caught in contact with a wolf on this list will likely share the same fate.

THE SACRED TOMBS

Our brothers and sisters that have sadly left us for their next adventures. We give thanks for their lives and we send them on with all our love, hopes and dreams. Moonshade will accept the bones of any wolf that has ever called Taviora their home and will find them a special place within our hallowed grounds. Every burial mound is individual and sacred. Tampering or messing with one will not be tolerated. A crime against the dead will be treated as though it has been committed against a living pack member.

Remember, we are always watching from the shadows ...
