Aster asked me to do something a little on the different side. I didn’t hesitate to go find Solstice, long dark grey legs off and carrying me towards her scent. I didn’t want to call her, make a spectacle of this, especially since it was so charged with personal intent. I get Aster’s worries, I just think she’s not doing this the right way. If she was worried maybe she needed to talk to Halcyon, not me to Solstice. I understand the constraints that Aster feels though. I figure she thinks she would be overstepping if she approached Solstice herself, or even Halcyon. She was still technically a pup though also she was coming into adulthood and now that she also was a queen along side of Halcyon she needed to start being a little more… cool headed. From what I remember of our childhood though she was never such a thing. I doubt that would change anytime soon too.
So far, I was making my way across the lands without a hitch. Able to carry myself with all the aplomb I could actually have when my tripping, flopping and whatever else doesn’t get in the way. I spot the pale girl finally, she wasn’t seemingly up to much, not that I could tell from here. I give a little bark to get her attention, before picking up my pace to a jog to more quickly close the space between us. It was then that disaster finally decided to rear its ugly head at me. It caused me to stumble, and within seconds I was yelping and flopping around in the taller grass in a very… not lady-like or even cooth manner. Of course it had to be soon as there was a witness…. Of course.
I lay there defeated for a moment, looking up at the partly cloudy sky and heaving a sigh before gathering myself up again. ”Solstice? Right? I was looking for you.” I say quickly trying to hush any words that may have come from her asking if I was alright. The pain from falling numbed long ago. This ritual of bad luck and embarrassing moments plagued me since the day I was born. But I wasn’t going to let it distract from my mission for Aster, but I wasn’t just going to drill into the girl either.
I close any remaining space there is between us, my banner giving a few friendly waves, and while I wasn’t currently smiling I didn’t exactly scream unwelcoming either. I was on business, that was all there was to say, but I wasn’t going to be unpleasant about it either. ”I don’t know if you know me, I’m Jinx. I came from Taviora too.” I started offering her then a small smile, figure that was probably a good start as any.
