Announcements as of July 28, 2021

I have called you, and you have answered my call --

Do not mistake my silence for weakness, my forest kin. For I am willing to defend you with my fangs and claws, until the days come when am no longer able to. Keep an eye on the borders for Zelda and her sister Midna, because I will welcome them back into the flock on the day of their return.

The flood has left our forest home in a sorry state of disarray. I shall not tolerate this. Summer is here and we must rebuild our dens in time for winter. There is a lot of hard and dirty work ahead of us. But we shall face it together, as family, as a pack. Let's get back to work and then we shall hunt. I hunger for a feast.

From your new Alpha --

Moonshade, the Gravekeeper of Moladion

Tuari
I’ll Fight Until I am the last Arrow on the Battlefield

The hunt had happened a little while ago now and since then she hadn’t really seen Dexter. At the hunt she felt things were, normal, like what happened before that never happened. They had shared something then accident she thought given that it all seemed a misunderstanding but happened all the same. She had felt bad doing the very thing she felt her parents did falling prey to the winter fever just after… well all that. She didn’t deny though that she enjoyed it, loved the attention and perhaps that was what made them sorta fall back into their normal routine over the hunt. She had felt strange after, even during the hunt but she didn’t know what exactly it was. With more time passing and any meetings between she still was working out what it had been with her body.

Of course Tuari knew how pups were made, but she never knew that it could be this… easy. She noticed already the slight swell of her sides the discomfort and enlarging of her feet and form in general. And the nausea… oh the nausea… followed by a swift ravenous hunger soon as it was gone. She wanted to be sure before saying anything. Dexter had worried so much over her little cut, and she worried so much more about his huge wounds across his back. Thus far she didn’t really know for sure. But now it had been a while hunting was getting difficult for her, of all wolves such a thing shouldn’t have bothered her, she was so good at it, but with the snow and winter being so chilly this year, perhaps most from a distance just thought she was getting extra fluffy with the winter pelt. After all she didn’t have a mate and her imprint was gone and no one, that she knew of, but the two of them knew what had transpired.

She sat a bit uncomfortably in her den, not because of her added weight just because more the situation. She should tell him, obviously, but she wondered what her parents would have done. Her father would have likely run off, dealt with it himself without being a bother to anyone. That’s why he took Tuari and Yoska out of the pack when they were young. Didn’t want to be tied down by the pack but didn’t want to just bother them with two abandoned pups either. She couldn’t imagine him all hoary like… she still saw him as the jovial male he always been even though she hadn’t seen him in years. He would have made a good grandfather though… then her mother. Oh she would have marched up to Dexter and told him they were his and he was going to be a father to them like it or not and she would tear if throat out if he thought otherwise.

She was just as dysfunctional as they were, and felt hopeless in the idea that this would work out better than how it had for her parents. Of course she was happy that of all the wolves whose pup’s she was carrying they were his. She wanted children, the thought of ever having that special somewolf come along to be the father of them had been off in the distance until Dexter had returned, but even though he was the father this wasn’t quite the scenario she would have hoped for him. For their pups. He had been upfront in saying that there was another girl he liked, and Tuari had no idea if maybe he had done something similar with her after their encounter or otherwise. She didn’t want to complicate his life either, no further than she already had that day at least. No… She would let him choose but he needed to know regardless.

Standing up she began her search of him and instantly her stomach churned. Nerves, pups or otherwise she didn’t know as she tightened her lips and threw her ears back before walking as stoically as she could forward and out of the den regardless. The little cut on her cheek twinged slightly as it met with the deep winter cold, but most the time it was rather ignorable. She guessed she needed to count her blessings she hadn’t gotten hurt worse during that hunt. Unknowingly had put more lives than her own at stake, but there was no use fretting about that. There was one thing was for sure though she knew she would be needing help soon, and perhaps the more worst part was, she heard Astrid was going to have puppies too, then Jinan currently was busy with his own pregnant partner so she couldn’t turn to him. She didn’t want to burden him just as much as she didn't really want to burden Dexter.

It made her feel a bit more alone in the matter knowing the two wolves she was closest too she didn’t want to bother with something so important. Dexter would be the first she would tell though, she hadn’t mentioned it to anyone now that she was sure though he deserved to be the first. She picked up her pace in her search not sure where to start. The valley maybe? Starting off that way she kept a sharp eye out all the while. Once again her lack of ability to call to him wasn’t exactly helpful but she had a knack for running into him anyway. Determined she searched until she thought she made him out in the distance in the white, browns and greys of the forest.

Excited she began to run forward. Bounding through the snow that managed to get through the canopy of the trees before gently bumping into the male she had been looking for. There were a lot of emotions, but still she was happy to have found him over all, even if she was worried what he might do or say they were here now and she couldn’t let it keep her from telling him the truth.

THE FOREST RANKS

THE GRAVEKEEPER

The Alpha Male of Taviora. He will accept all challenges and block any steals. He has taken an oath to protect all within the forest, alive and dead.

THE KEEPER OF SECRETS

This will be Moonshade's chosen co-alpha. They will also be able to accept challanges and steals in order to defend Taviora.

THE KEEPER OF TRUTHS

This rank will belong to the chosen heir of Taviora. This wolf will probably share Moonshade's blood. This rank can be challenged for if you believe that you are a better candidate for the job.

THE FOREST COUNCIL

Although the Alpha's have the final say in all matters, Taviora is still a pack, we are still a community. These wolves are the most senior members of our ranks. Their role is to guide, serve and protect. All of them have earned their place here and they should be respected at all times. Every position on the council can be challanged for by a subordinate pack member. However the council has the right to block a pack member from gaining the position if they have concluded that the individual has placed their own selfish desires before the best interest of the pack as a whole.

THE TUSKS

The packs lead fighter. One of the strongest and bravest in our ranks. They will answer the call to protect the forest if either of the Alpha's are absent.

THE JAWS

The packs head of defence. They are our chief hunter and guardian to all within the forest borders. They know every inch of Taviora and every wolf within.

THE HORNS

The packs most senior teacher. They are responsible for teaching and guiding all of our young and new members so that they will reach their full potential.

THE EYES

The packs trusted informant. This wolf spends a lot of their time outside the forest borders, keeping their eyes, ears and nose peeled for news or potential trouble. Due to the secretive and dangerous nature of this rank, only a wolf that the pack can trust with their lives will obtain this responsibility.

THE DARKDWELLER

This is Taviora’s Head Healer. This wolf is responsible for treating the pack's wounds, injuries and illnesses. They are also expected to be one of the first on scene when a mother goes into labour. Along with their counterpart, The Soothsayer, they will train future healers for the service of our pack and our allies.

THE SOOTHSAYER

This is Taviora’s Head Counselor. Their knowledge of healing and herbal remedies are equal to that of their counterpart, The Darkdweller. This wolf specializes in helping us conquer the unseen demons in our heads and our hearts. They are also expected to help bring all children of the forest safely into this world.

NIGHTWATCHERS

Our trusted packmates that guard the borders while the rest of us sleep safely in our dens. If something is amiss within our lands, they should be the first to intercept any threat and call for back up when needed. Some might not call themselves soldiers, but they will spill blood if push comes to shove.

DAWNSTRIDERS

The most diligent and selfless of our pack. They are up at first light and leave our inner sanctum every few days in search of prey. They hunt far and wide in order to make sure none of us go hungry. While not out hunting, they are free to relax or assist the Nightwatchers, Daylightres or Dawnstriders with their tasks.

DAYLIGHTERS

This group will make up the bulk of our pack, they are our beloved family. They are generalists and commoners who are charged with looking after the most central and sacred parts of our home. Along with The Horns, they are expected to watch out for our children. We are happy to keep all within our ranks that love and respect the forest of Taviora.

DUSKWALKERS

Rumoured to be the most free spirited and independent members of our pack, they guard when no other eyes are available. They wander down all the winding dirt paths and have been known to explore into the freelands. They are envoys and ambassadors who assist The Eyes with their duty of keeping us all safe.

ANCIENT PINES

These wolves are older and have retired from active service. We thank them for all that they have done for our pack, however long or short their tenor was. They shall live out the rest of their years with the best food, shelter and company we can offer them.

THE BRIAR PATCH

This is the name for Taviora’s nursing mothers and their litters of puppies. Once they are born, at least one parent is expected to temporarily step down from their role in order to raise their pups for the first 6 months of their lives. An exemption can be made if another mother is willing to look after the young while the parents resume their service to the pack.

THE SAPLINGS

Too big for the briar patch but not yet old enough to be called a daylighter. These are all puppies between the age of 1 and 3. Pups can start their training from 2 and above if The Horns has found a suitable Mentor for them.

THE WELCOMED

These wolves are welcome within our borders anytime of the day or night. Blocking their access will be met with disapproval and possible punishment.

THE BANISHED

They are enemies of our pack and their presence will not be tolerated within or near our home. Those caught in contact with a wolf on this list will likely share the same fate.

THE SACRED TOMBS

Our brothers and sisters that have sadly left us for their next adventures. We give thanks for their lives and we send them on with all our love, hopes and dreams. Moonshade will accept the bones of any wolf that has ever called Taviora their home and will find them a special place within our hallowed grounds. Every burial mound is individual and sacred. Tampering or messing with one will not be tolerated. A crime against the dead will be treated as though it has been committed against a living pack member.

Remember, we are always watching from the shadows ...
