Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

She had returned to her woodland base, pack scent washed away now. She searched for her brother but with the rains onset she knew it would be a difficult task and on occasion, he would go off on his own, but Sekhmet never cared enough to follow him. He was her closest ally, blood and pact sealed them. He understood like no other but even she kept secrets hidden in the dark, screaming in the void. Perhaps, he did as well but it was death she communed with most, the thing that gave her a pact, a hunger and cloak in darkness an essence she come to terms with lingered on her like her own scent, most were wary of her presence, some more trusting than others, and some that were pure fools that practically leapt into her jaws. Sekhmet was never discouraged those that kept distance were wise but those that made a pact with her were welcomed into her space but not so much in the depths, a darkness she felt so elated to bask in.

The breeze shifted slightly almost delicately ticketing her nose a delight the customary pine, spruce, and fir trees were accompanied with something else, a scent that lingered but as the rain began to break through the trees the scent would fade quickly. It was a stranger some new being she hadn’t encountered and yet that could be said for most of the residence best not to get to acquainted with potential meals she supposed. She hastened her speed, paws quickly aiming to make the distance with as little rustling as she could manage. The mostly black, figure wasn’t far off now she could glimpse it through the trees and while her shadowy figured loomed steps ahead almost eager to take charge make this acquaintance be it foreshadowed purpose death had seen set or blood to satiate the hunger that always loomed over her mind and from within. Did she seek the hunger of flesh or destruction of light? Both were becoming harder to separate now these days.

It is with the uttermost silence she stalks closer to the black shadow trying to make her footfalls light despite her pace and her additional weight. She couldn’t clearly view the creature but Sekhmet was almost certain her build was lithe and far more agile. She had the stamina and a deep chest but she was unsure if the potential is worth her pursuit. Careful not to spook the creature and force a chase only the breeze had the potential to ruin her hunt when she was only a few stretches and bounds away but she watched the big cats for safety, watched the stalk and the ambush all she had to do was close the distance. Death was her ally, fate was that of the other. Fate’s light was the only thing to tamper with her and this only darkens her soul further pushing her to continue the hunt ready to break the distance gap if she must. Fate tormented her for too long, now she made her own fate.
