Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

Confusion fogged his thoughts as he slipped away from the gathering. His mentors had told him to be brave, face his fears and stand up when he needed to. Within minutes so much had happened he was confident none of the four would have scolded him from leaving. Not only had the tension between all the wolves been so thick even he could hear the tones in the air, but something had slammed into his chest with the force to leave him breathless. Anything that had to do with his half brother and his companions was wiped from his mind when a pale girl arrived. She left him breathless and he could not figure out why. A quick glance around and he knew he needed to get out of the group, somehow he felt he needed to get her out of the group. Useless ears twisted uncertainly. After staring her down for what felt like far too long, he turned tail and padded down a path leading away from the gathering. Following his nose, he circled back to the trail she had taken to get there, hoping it would be the same one she would take to leave.

Finding a rock with sheltering brush, he settled himself to the ground, gaze staring up the path longingly. While most of his mind was consumed with his desire to see her again, to make sure she was safe from the dangers of the gathered puppies, the rest of him tried to rifle through what he did know about what just happened. Try as he might, he could not find anything in his thoughts that would explain this feeling. He felt as protective of her as he did the puppies of Taviora, and the pack he longed to call home. There was something far deeper though. Something that could not be ignored and pounded deep in his blood. He did not understand the concept of love, nor Imprinting. The idea of fate had never been introduced to him. Simply loyalty and protection. Now he felt longing. Along with a need to please. A need with little to no idea of how to do so.

Under the brush, he whined once, silent to himself while he knew no one was around. Whimpering was a weakness, but so was confusion. With a sigh, he settled to the ground and waited, his two toned eyes on the trail above. He hoped beyond hope she would choose this path and he would be able to see her. Try to find out why he wanted to be near her. At the very least, he would be able to make sure the others had not had hurt her, and he would be able to give her his name so he could walk beside her. If only for a little while.
