To say she had thought the pack meeting would go smoothly would have been a lie, but she definitely had not been expecting one of her own pack to challenge her. She expected them to have questions, to even possibly be a bit angry at what was happening, but to outright challenge her for the title. When Tychon stepped forward, posture dominant and rasped his challenge she could not keep the surprise from her face. The mountains had been under her families protection for generations and that one of their own would seek to end that simply caught her off guard. Swallowing her astonishment and fighting the fire of anger that had sparked in her chest she regained her composure and calmly strode down from her seat.

Pacing toward him she took his measure as best she could. He was near her own age she believed and knew him to have been a loyal scout under her mother’s rule and while they might have been the same weight she towered over him by half a foot at least. That didn’t make him any less of an opponent simply one that would need a different approach, her uncle Taliesin’s training rang in her ears from the countless nights she had trained with him during her stay in Diveen. As a younger pup she had dreams of one day defending Spirane but she had never thought it would be from one of her own wolves. She paused before him standing a short distance away, her soft brown eyes rimmed with the light of the moon looking at him as genially as she could muster. “I accept,” she replied evenly before casting her gaze back out to the rest of the pack, “and all of you are welcome to stay and bear witness.”

turning slightly she paced away a bit stiff legged to where the clearing was less crowded with other wolves before turning with her finely masked head and dark tail held high. Her stance is open, ready and waiting for him to come at her and more than willing to prove herself to anyone who dared question her right and ability to lead Spirane.
