PRIME MINISTER'S DECREE

"None." - Leader

The Offspring

Diccon (Cicada x Khar'pern)

Rules

• The Vulcan Peak is where homeless mares come to live as a sisterhood. Stallions may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Warriors keep mainly to fighting, Thinkers keep mainly to raiding, and Politicians may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Codebreaker or Prime Minister for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Prime Minister maintains order within the Peak and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Peak works on the Rules page.

let me be brave

Of course. The meeting had been one brief hour or so of time, years upon years ago, but Oswin had once seen this mare along with Inka and her young sons. So wrapped up in her head and with so much time having passed, it was likely she wouldn’t immediately remember where she’d seen this mare before. Oswin dipped her head; however, appearing ashamed at not remembering for Adelheid’s turned back ears told Oswin she disliked not being remembered. Oswin was used to an amiable relationship with her siblings, having grown in the Prairie beneath such a tight-knit family, but she had to remind herself not every one of her father’s children had the same experiences.

Oswin sighed gently as they fell into step beside one another. “I’m sorry I didn’t remember you, Adelheid.” She said, hoping she’d at least remembered the mare’s name right and didn’t call her by another name. “It’s been a long time since that day,” her blue eyes searched the mare’s profile briefly, “and I’ve had a lot on my mind today.” She apologized because she assumed she’d hurt the mare’s pride by not remembering her and Oswin didn’t like to harm her sisters. It would be Adelheid’s choice now if she chose to accept what Oswin said or not. If she chose to still treat Oswin coldly, Oswin couldn’t say she’d be so amiable when next they crossed paths. Though Oswin was a compassionate creature, such compassion only went so far. She had her limits.

Oswin allowed a brief moment of silence between them and intended to speak of Vita Nova, Koray, and the Desert (as it kept spinning in her mind) to see what Adelheid thought of it all, but they were swiftly interrupted. “Jetta!” Oswin cried out in dismayed surprise, hurrying to trot with Adelheid to approach her sister. Oswin had time to bond with Jetta when last she’d lived at the Peak and though they hadn’t had time yet to reconnect, she still loved her just the same as she had when they’d first realized they were siblings. She looked at Jetta’s gaze as she stared up at them and gently stretched her neck, gaining a closer inspection of Jetta to see if there were any wounds – particularly head wounds. Her eyes wandered back to Jetta’s again. “Jetta? Are you alright?” The unfocused nature of the eyes was what frightened her most, though, and prompted her to say, “it’s me. It’s Oswin.”

oswin
this is as brave as I know how to be.
I know it’s gonna hurt you, but please… be a little proud of me.
