Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

It was not so much that Blackthorne was inherently evil, only that his DNA swung more to the side of violent and masochistic at times. He did not abide by weakness - it was to be snuffed out or sharpened and toned until a strength was born from it. The way he saw it, a pack that couldn't protect themselves was weak and useless. Now a pack filled with wolves who understood they COULD protect themselves but chose to remain beneath one unified front was a powerhouse. It is what he aspired to, dreamed of, but he kept those ambitions reigned tightly within him, a secret burning that not even Zharko knew about. It is why he seeks the strong even in his youth, cultivating and testing them, inspiring loyalty or even fear. He has kept his movements alien and foreign to those in Glorall save perhaps Eve. Even Natiya was kept in the dark. Especially his parents.

His ears flip back as Thor begins his lecture. While the male may not think Thorne is actually listening it is quite the opposite. He understands that Thor believes his own words yet it is not his belief, not after having watched things spiral out of control. Ah, those secrets, they clutch tight to his chest and he feels one lip rising to reveal the tip of his fang, a half-smirk of sorts. "Is it not strategy to strengthen those around you and surround yourself with the strong?" Then Thor makes the mistake of saying a pack steps in and his ears flatten completely, a flash of teeth given as he growls. "The pack steps in eh? I have yet to see THAT." There is obvious derision in his voice. He did not wish for anyone to have come into his life as a pup - he much preferred his independence, however, it wasn't surprising that him and Natiya had been tucked away. His mother was rather a ghost of sorts and Underidge spent most of Thorne's life hidden away until recently. Until he killed his own mate.

"Besides, if a pup cannot survive infancy than it was not born with a strong spirit." And he truly believes that. His mother said once that he came out screaming in rage at the world - he was born a conquerer and he would die one. Of that he had made a pact - with himself and the Devil, if need be. "Weakness can be taught to be strong, if one tries I suppose." His head tilts as he considers. There is much he wishes to experiment with. A sudden wicked grin is given to Thor when he questions him about why Thorne was still here. "Who is to say that I don't have plans of my own?" Boasting would be nice but he refrains lest Thor try to meddle in his business because he senses this male WAS a meddler.

Still, he is young, and he dislikes the insult that Thor tossed back at him. "Did it drive you mad? The need for others?" Suddenly there is a viciousness in his voice as he abruptly stands, his charcoal eyes flashing silver with malice as he stalks towards Thor. It is true - this test could strengthen Thorne and he was never one to turn down a challenge even if he had a hard time admitting defeat. "Did the memory of your parents haunt you while you cried in your loneliness?" He taunts, using his words as much as his teeth and claws as a weapon. A brazen grin bursts across his face, wicked amusement. "I wonder... is it their bones I have been gnawing on recently?"
