Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

Myrcella was growing a bit bolder. Still ever the sweet girl wanting to make sure everything was alright with her little family. The pup wanted to see more of Moladin. Spirane was an interesting place to explore with its beautiful mountains and evergreen trees. Winter had brought a new beauty to her home that she never could have imagined. She was a sweet summer child though. With her sandy blonde fur, she just looked like summer. She bounded along south, pausing only a moment at the pack's borders to look back before darting past the marked boundaries and towards the river.

It did not take long for her to hear the trickle of water. She continued through the snow, coming to a halt not far from the riverbank. She crept closer to give it a sniff and lapped up just a sip with her tongue. So cold! Myrcella yelped, not realizing such a temperature difference would be a thing! Her bright eyes looked at it curiously before she decided to explore a bit more, following the flow of the Aplos River as it continued in its generally southward direction. All the winter creatures were about. A few foxes and squirrels, and even a rabbit or two. None of whom seemed disturbed by her presence. She would pause and watch them curiously.

Outside Spirane was a whole new world of wonder! Prey creatures were seen at home, but foxes were new. They were like miniature wolves to her eyes, for they clearly were not, but they seemed so similar! Myrcella decided to investigate that further. Maybe they were a different kind of wolf! Yes, that had to explain it. And so she moved slowly, belly close to the ground as she rather poorly attempted to sneak up and get closer to them, only to fail miserable and they dart away, causing the poor girl to pout. She only wanted to try and be friends! Maybe there would be someone else. With that thought, her ears perked up and she began to examine the area again. Surely there was someone else about.
