Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

I AM SPINNING IN INFINITY
She crouched in her den, wide-eyed and pitiful as the spring storm ravaged the coastline. The waves beat against the shore, and she shrunk back as a piece of driftwood slammed into the soft sand in front of her den. The wind seemed to only increase in its power, and Ehiyeh felt herself growing cold, shivering in fear. Had she brought her own curse upon this land? She scuttled back, pressing herself against the furthest walls of her seaside den, wishing that she were anywhere else. She became convinced that the darkness swirling within her had finally come to a head. It threatened, now, to destroy everything that she knew and everyone that she loved. Ehiyeh hoped for the safety of Adonai and Elohim, of Eden, of Erebos and the rest of her half-siblings. She would kill them, with this darkness. If they died, it would be her fault.

As the howling wind seemed to tear through the landscape with impossible intensity, the woman cried out, though her whines were lost in the sound of wind and driving rain. For a moment, she felt as though the world would simply be picked up and carried away-- though as soon as it had come, it was over, leaving nothing in its wake except the gentle pitter-patter of rain. Ehiyeh uncurled herself hesitantly, putting one unsteady paw in front of the other as she moved from her den to peer out of its mouth. A seagull lay dead on the beach, and she turned up her nose, looking the other way at the large swath of destruction the storm had caused. The woman let out a choked gasp as she stood upon the beach.

Her curse had finally come to pass over the beaches where she made her home. The darkness lived here, and it had boiled over, spilling out in the form of an all-consuming, frenzied wind that brought destruction in its wake. Her subconscious was a virulent beast, spreading its poison across everything that she touched. What more could it destroy? With her head held low, Ehiyeh moved down the beach, shaking her head and muttering to herself. It had sent her spiraling once more. She wished for her brother, her child, but she did not wish for them to go through this, too. They had been on the receiving end enough times for her to be contented with, and perhaps it was her punishment to endure this alone.
