Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

Formalities over, Dirk had ventured further into Glorall lands. Siren was here and he would find her, make sure she was well. So much had happened since he’d decided to look after her that he knew he was neglecting his self-sworn duty to his wee shadow. Anything might have happened to her in the months that he’d not seen her. Perhaps it was good that thoughts of romance were now on hold. He was far more responsible than to woo a lady without home or land to provide her. In any case he had sworn himself to Siren’s safety and to Arturio’s. That didn’t leave much room for even a brief tryst really. Not with the way things were going.

Before long, Dirk heard a call, a familiar voice though it was joined by the young voice of a pup. Confused by the duet, Dirk trotted off in the direction of the call, determined to see that the lass was well. That she’d not come to harm while he’d been attempting to secure a position that would allow him to better protect her and the areas she roamed. If it had been a handful of months prior, he might have wallowed in the misery of his failure, but Dirk was nearly back to his old self and was far too determined to let something like the loss of a pack deter him from what he’d committed himself to. For the moment that meant Siren and Arturio trumped any personal desire he might possess.

After a short time, he spotted the wee shadow with her highlights of red and grinned, slowing only when he spotted the smaller form of a pup at her side. Surely she wasn’t...the mother? The lass was barely more than a pup herself at times. But there was enough of Siren in the pup that he couldn’t deny that there had to be a relation; the pup was dark with reddish brown highlights. A low grumble rattled in his chest as Dirk contemplated what exactly it meant that there was a pup running about that looked like his wee shadow. It meant that someone had taken advantage of her whilst he was trying to stabilize the freelands that she roamed. His expression darkened and it took him several seconds before he could compose himself enough to regain control over his features. Taking a deep breath, his face smoothed and he adopted an easy smile, striding forward, glancing at the pup once more. ”Och, my wee shadow. It is good to see you well”
