At Leisure Lake the sun is always shining and only a few stray clouds roam the open sky; paradise is the one word that really describes it. This beautiful lake is clean and refreshing, the very best place to swim and fish. Pups are known to play here while older wolves watch at the side, engaged in their own activities.

If someone were to ask him, he would say that the seasons had passed far too quickly. Spring had been immensely enjoyable, a welcome reprieve from the biting cold of winter. Tiresias had not minded the rains that came with it, and had not been bothered much by the floods that had swept the ocean waters into his and Castiel’s den. Spring had brought with it new life, with a welcomed increase in prey, and a gentle sun to watch over them during the day. All too soon, spring had given way into summer, and the heat still had been welcome. Tiresias, a maned wolf, had no problem with the high temperatures. Especially not in comparison to Castiel, whose thick pelt predisposed him to overheating so much more than Tiresias‘ own did. The two had least the season away, relaxing on the beach they called their front lawn, and sleeping wherever they wanted, be it in there cave or on the shoreline. If it was possible to do so, Tiresias had gotten a little plump, especially in comparison to his winter bodies, which had seen him to be made of nearly just skin and bones since he spent most of his time shivering. But now? Now autumn was here, and the Calac spent most of his time pondering how time has flown to quickly, and questioning what the future would hold.

Tiresias had assumed that with the warm months, they would leave the beach. After all, he was only here because Eerie had brought him here to escape the forest fires of cold Summers. But cold summers was no more, and Eerie was long gone. There were many lands for them to choose from-and it did not need to be one that held any painful memories for either of them. Tiresias had not assumed for even a second that they would separate-what reason would there be? They were two friends who had grown close out of necessity and circumstance… Why ruin something that fate had cultured and cultivated? But instead, they had not left their home, nor even each other. And so, Tiresias was left with the simple question of why?

Why had the two grown so close? Why was it that Tiresias assumed that they would choose a place together to live? Why was Castile so afraid to leave this place? Why was Tiresias so afraid of leaving Castile?

The brute had never been one for avoidance - he was blunt in his honesty, almost to a fault. Yet he had been frightened to bring these questions up to Castiel, afraid of what answers they may bring. Perhaps his heart knew at least some of them, but his mind refuted them, and wished not to think of it. Tiresias was in a bit of a conundrum - unlike most of his kind, he had absolutely no trouble with wolves of different breeds and species. After all, sight was not something that plagued him, and he could not tell what heritage another wolf had without asking, so why did it matter? But also unlike most of his kind, Tiresias found the idea of homosexuality grotesque and disgusting. And the fact that he occasionally felt more than friendly emotions toward Castiel made it all the worse. That had been why, this morning, he had woke before the sun and moved to the mouth of the cave. Sometime within the night, Cas had thrown a limb over him. It had not been the first time that the two had lain in an embrace, and would surely not be the last, but it had rattled the kalak to his bones. The idea of two males laying together in an intimate setting was wrong… And somehow, somewhere along the way, he had forgotten that. Reese stared blankly and blindly out toward the ocean, knowing due to his internal clock that the sun was about to break over the horizon. And within moments, Tiresias could feel its heat radiating over him. He blinked, but not because the sun was too bright for him - it would never be too bright. He would never be able to see its rays up on the horizon, would never be able to see the beautiful colors painted across the sky. He had never considered his blindness to be a crutch nor disability… But had stolen some of the beauty of the world from him, and he could not help but be sad about it. And he could not help but wonder what it would be like to see. To see that sunrise, to see a sunset …

… To see what Castiel looked like when he was sleeping, dreaming…

As if on cue, he turned back toward Cas, the internal struggle of what to do raging and him, But not because of his own thoughts, but because Castiel has called for him. A frown settled upon Tiresias‘s face, one of concern and confusion. Cas‘ vocals were tense, strained, anxious, worried. And for what reason? Tiresias‘ head is tilted oh so slightly so that he was better able to hear, and he listened to the panting, the rustling of Castiel‘s hair…

What was your nightmare about” There was no point in asking if the hessian had had one, for it was obvious that he had in the way that he was slowly settling down the longer he spent awake. The kalak moved to his friend’s side and gently pushed his nose into his friend’s shoulder, lending comfort. “You have not had one in a while. I wonder what it is to have brought this one on…
