A Dream of You & Me - " />

Romance is in the air...this is probably the most beautiful and scenic place in Blossom Forest. For the athletic and determined to come with their mates, for time away from pups. Only adults may come here; some of the ledges are too far apart for teens or pups to cross and some too high to scale.

All that glitters is gold; don't believe what you've been told.

The statement was simple, as it always was. But here it carried more weight than any other words she ever seemed to speak, all because of one simple fact. Or rather a presence that seemed to create a confliction of interests. Athene invoked that childish need for a mother, to pretend as though she was a helpless babe. On the contrary though, she blockaded herself into a small confined box. Armored against the world and all who dared to tread near her heart, but it wasn’t as if Athene phased through the walls. In fact she remained as much on the outside as any other, but unlike most each time she appeared a little piece of that wall would fall away leaving Sabelle that much more vulnerable. Even if there was no need to be threaten by her mother’s presence. She knew that she ought to happy, outwardly so, about finally finding Athene. Somehow she could not bring herself to let go of the walls though, and so she cowered in the corner of her cage holding back all those emotions. She had captured them long ago and with no one to share them she had gotten used to storing them in the depths of her heart. Cold and cloistered away, leaving her façade stony and unfaltering.

Only this was slowly falling apart with each visit from her mother.

Honey orbs flicked lazily up the curling crown of antlers that protruded from her skull, extended protrusions of bone. Sabelle peered upwards barely catching the outer rims of them in her upper vision, before she focused back on Athene. The elder wolfess seemed distracted internally, she honey pools did not truly focus on her daughter the way they had before when they had first found each other. Sabelle watched her carefully, seeing the subtle flickering emotions behind her similarly stoic mask. She scanned over Athene’s figure realizing that there had been changes in her bodice, all too similar to what she had once faced in her life. Her façade falter for a moment as a memory slipped to the surface. Macon’s figure stood proudly in the distance, his shadow cast over her and their two pups, who were playing joyously. Frolicking and roughhousing each other in the warmth of the late afternoon. It had been one of those rare moments that she had genuinely felt something for their little family, like maybe one day she could have genuinely settled down. Maybe she would have seen Ky again, and their pups could have grown up like siblings and they could have continued with their secret life… Instead she had chosen to run away, leave it all behind for her – Athene.

Glazed over pools of hazel blinked and refocused on Athene, ears straining to make sense of the words she saw coming from her mouth. Something about pack life being a hard sell, and where was her home? Sabelle tweaked her head sideways, why did she want to know where Sabelle was? Would she send someone to come get her? Drag her back to a pack she did not know or want to join? Forced captivity? Sabelle shook the thought away, Athene wouldn’t do that to her. The words “birthing” and “pups” registered in her brain though and brought her to attention, confirming what she had thought at the sight of her mother. And she was rambling on about how Sabelle was Pierce’s daughter, but also hers and how she didn’t want these pups to change their relationship. Sabelle opened her mouth to respond, but was quieted as Athene reached into her and nuzzled gently.

The walls crumbled underneath that pressure leaving Sabelle vulnerable to those swelling emotions. Her eyes filled with tears letting herself feel them for the first time in what seemed like ages. She let herself embrace Athene realizing how much she had wanted this. Athene was the mother she had always wanted, dreamt about, and finally she was. A soft sigh escaped her lips to release the pressure. As Athene pulled away a paw swiped away the tears that threatened to fall, blinking them furiously away. Both of the femmes seemed to have touched into their emotions, though a painful anger seemed to written into Athene face and Sabelle spoke with quiet concern, If it Pierce’s ignorance that angers you, let it no more be an issue to you. He would never pursue me here for his duties to his former pack hold him there and more so in my absence. He knows the anger and betrayal I harbor against him, so let it not hang on your conscious as it does mine. He did wrong by both of us, but that no longer afflicts us because I have you again Athene. She did not mention her own children left in her wake, but maybe one day she would return for them and bring them to Blossom Forest. They deserved a life better then what would be thrust upon them, but now was not that time. She did miss them though, but she was not ready then and was not now. You spoke of two pups borne by you, by whom I am not concerned, but how old are they? Where are they? Sabelle knew that they were not with Athene, which slightly concerned her because she knew the longer she held her mother here, the longer the babes were without their mother.

Do not fret over where I am hidden myself away, it is but a little burrow some distance away from here. Camouflaged by the natural landscape. You have no need to fear any retribution from me over your own pups, I know I may not be by your genes, but you were the only one loyal to my heart and bettering as a pup. My father can hardly be called such, as he did little to be a father for me even in the absence of a mother. I don’t care much to think of him, but tell me more about your life here. The pups and where you have taken up residence. I wouldn’t mind visiting one day and seeing the pups, I’m sure they’ve already begun their training? Sabelle smiled, thinking back to her own memories of training with Athene. Practices that she still kept to even almost as an adult, Walk with me? Sabelle nodded her head towards where she could only assume Athene had come from.

People lie, people love, people go, but beauty lies in every soul.
