Standing in a new territory, with Reine at his side, he was doing his best to keep an eye out for anyone, anything, that was going to come their way. But Reine's voice kept interrupting his thought process. "Papa, I want to go home. I don't want to be here." He turned his head, pressing his large head against the side of her small, fox-like face. "Hush zanj mwen, as soon as we're free from this prison sentence, I'll bring you home. I could not leave you unattended renmen" His words were muttered against her fur.
He pulled away, watching her face before her gaze darted away from him, and thus, his eyes tracked the direction she was looking. He stiffened, his body pulling Reine in closer to him as he straightened to his full height. Close to the other male's size, but Robichaux was not worried about size. He kept his maw shut and his gaze on the brute as he came closer, and the words that were spoken brought an almost feral like growl from the depths of his chest, he took a half-a-step closer to the male, and to the side, blocking Reine with the size of his body. "You dare touch a single strand of fur on her and it will be the last thing you do." His teeth barred through the words, Not the most original line, but the growl that was still vibrating in his chest and the menacing feeling that was rushing through his veins was kind of blocking his mind.
The scent that wafted towards him did not dispell the growl in his chest, it was still there, vibrating lowly and threatening anyone. When he saw Syèl, he forced himself to cover his teeth back up, the growl rumbling lowly in his chest as he pushed Reine back a few steps, his ears swiveling when he heard her crying. "Papa! I wanna go hoooooomme!" Her whine made his ears pin backwards, and he cast a long glance her way. "Yes zanj mwen, I know." He murmured softly, the growl dissipating as he spoke to his child. He looked back to Syèl, a frown marring his face. "She's my daughter! If I had wanted to see you I would have, instead of being dragged here like this! I didn't want this, I didn't want to drag my child from her home! Hell, I don't even know why I was chosen in the first place!" His tone was darker than he would have preferred but with how this was going, he wasn't in his peachy-charm mood. No, the only thing keeping him settled was Reine's weight against his side.
Feeling his daughter tremble against his side was more than he could take. He took a few steps back from both Syèl and the brute, pressing himself towards Reine to comfort her, his eyes locking in on Syèl, trying to figure out what it was about him that pissed her off so dang much.
