Ruieze Fields

Open fields and soft grass...
Ruieze stretches far in the midlands of Moladion, laced with streams that feed into Diveen and out of Asteraia at times. The fields are vast, filled with wildflowers and tall, soft grass; trees are sparse, as are rocks, but one can find small shrubs to hide amongst, and the grass itself. To the south of the fields, a Ruieze River widens, and the ground becomes sandy. There is a small, grassy island that can be reached from the banks, with water-birds often congregating on the island rather than the riverbanks.

The wolf started acting restless the more he crouched and watched. His ears pricked at the grumble from the stranger's throat. Could he sense him? Had he screwed it up already by going upwind of the wolf or something or was the male just extra paranoid? Maybe he was witnessing a mental breakdown or something. That should be fun to watch! He squinted his eyes more but suddenly the male was on the move, going further into the tall grasses. He seemed to be heading toward Asteraia. Why would he got there? Eztli wrinkled his nose and started moving through the grass too. He made soft swishing sounds in the grass but luckily his coat blended in on the top half. He was intensely focused on following the male. Why was he going to the plains? He didn't have their pack scent. He smelled like the mountains. Was he on a mission? Eztli was intrigued.

They kept walking for a little while but then Eztli heard humming. Was the wolf singing now? How...odd. He listened, actually captivated by the sound. But then the old resentment started to creep in. He would never carry a tune like that. He would never hum or sing. His ears flattened to his skull and his lips curled. How dare the wolf sing! Before he knew it, he was running at the wolf, but instead of running straight at him, he cut through the grass and ran around him, trying to head him off. Once he was sure he was in front of the wolf's path, he cut back in and stopped in front of him, his stance widened in defense and his head lowered to protect his vitals. He glared daggers at the wolf as he stomped his paw. "Stop that." He mouthed, his brows furrowed and his ears still pinned.
