The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Note:The Grotto will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

What’s in it for me

He didn’t know what he expected to find here in the grotto. He certainly didn’t expect to find answers to why Enderly was killed. It wasn’t that he wanted justice for his death or anything like that. He’d already come to the conclusion that he didn’t really like Enderly, even as a child. He didn’t understand the games his father would play with wolves, trying to mess with their head and make them lose confidence. What was the point in the end? Loki wasn’t sure he’d ever figure that out.

The further he got into the grotto, the more curious he became. He figured it would only get darker as he went further in but light trickled through the ceiling in different places, making it actually quite lit up and almost magical looking. He even smelled and heard water as he went further in. Wrinkling his nose in puzzlement, Loki followed the smell till he was in a rounded cavern, his gaze focusing on the small circle of water in the middle of the room. That wasn’t the most interesting thing though. The most interesting thing was that he wasn’t alone in here. There was another wolf sitting by the lake, his tail swishing slowly through the water like a paintbrush. Loki paused and tilted his head, blinking at the male in curiosity.

The other male spoke first, calling him a night crawler and asking if he wanted company. Loki thought for a moment, simply blinking in the darkness before he spoke back to the wolf. “Depends. As company, what can you do for me?”
