Shilo And I Don’t Think That I Can Be Fixed

Shilo didn’t realize how quickly she had fallen into a deep sleep until the sound of vocals was stirring her awake. For a moment she thought about ignoring them and just staying asleep. It was easy that way, there was no pain or fatigue when she was sleeping. But she knew that she couldn’t just lie here and act like whoever was trying to wake her hadn’t done so. The voice was close to her ear, as if he was trying to wake her and not just seeing if anyone was in this cave. He knew she was here and knew she had been sleeping. So there had to be some reason that he woke up. And that was the last thing she thought before fear and pain swept through her mind. Trying to get to her paws, she rose her head directly into the trap that the other kalak had laid out for her. The back of her neck hit something…no…someone…and that someone quickly closed his jaws. She felt his teeth bite into her nape, holding her in place, and a yelp of pain and surprise escaped her.

The femme forced her own vocals out, trying to sound tough and unafraid, but she knew that would not happen. She had never been a warrior and never came off as one, and she was sure that this male would see through whatever façade she may attempt. Her form tried to get away from his own, but his taller stilts were caged around her, and when he squeezed them she knew there was no escape. Not unless he allowed it. A whimper of fear escaped her throat, even though she tried to suppress it. But he remained silent for the moment, giving her no indication of his intentions. But she did feel the weight of his legs move away from her, bringing them over to the same side and she tried to pull away in the opposite direction, but she was no match for the larger male. The other kalak threw Shilo to the back of the cave, her weakened form no match to try and fight him off or to stay on her paws. Another yelp, this one more of shock than pain, escaped her throat as she fell to her side, mint green orbs lifting to see who her tormenter was.

“You may be weak, Shilo, but I never took you as stupid. You know who I am, or at least who I was. Name the body if not the mind, and you will get an answer close enough to the truth.” As the male spoke, she did indeed know who she was, though that didn’t help her situation at all. Most of the kalaks had left Blossom, and only a few of them had lingered within these forests. But she knew who most of them, or at least knew of them. Perdere was one that she had been warned about. If he had kept his sanity and held onto his other form, he would not be dangerous. But now that the killer had taken over the form entirely, he was unpredictable and dangerous. She remained silent as she watched him, using his larger form to block her only way of escape. Even if Shilo managed to slip by him, there was no way her sickly form could ever outrun him. The male broke the silence that was growing heavy within the small confines of the cave, creating a new fear within her belly. “Princess Shilo… How is it that you have survived all this time on your own? Or are you… Not on your own? Tell me, which of your siblings are still alive to your knowledge?”

It seemed that Perdere didn’t know she lived, so did that mean that she didn’t know her brother was still alive and living nearby? She didn’t know the status of her other two siblings, but Tiresias was still around. What did this monster want with her brother? He was not an entirely healthy wolf being blind, so he would he be able to hold off Perdere should he find him? She didn’t know, and she didn’t want to be the reason that the other kalak killed her brother, or did even worse things to him. Her breed was not a kind one, relishing in torture and ravishment, even to their own kin. So she knew being related wouldn’t save herself or her siblings. It would be better to try and hide the fact that she knew about Tiresias. Swallowing hard, she finally spoke up, voice shaky and nervous. ”I…I joined a new pack when our home was destroyed. But I don’t know where anyone else…or if anyone else made it out alive.” She hoped that he wouldn’t notice her lie, because she wasn’t sure what he would do to her if he did…But for now she didn’t attempt any sort of escape or fight, just remained where she fell, her eyes wide and nervous as she anxiously watched the male to see what it was that he had planned for her.
