Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

I'LL BE YOUR DEADMAN

STUCK IN YOUR WONDERLAND
She was hungry, it seemed. His pale gaze carefully watched as hers seemed to focus more on his bird than on him. Ramos couldn’t blame her. It was rough living by oneself. Shelter was hard to find and flesh to fill your belly even harder. He had it easier being as large as he was. The brute could play the bully and get away with it. However, for a wolf as small as this stranger was, he guessed he was the much better off of the two. His meticulous grooming habits left his thick coat sleek and hid a great deal of the struggle he was undergoing besides the feathers and blood that had yet to be cleaned away. Still, he very much was in her position, a lone wolf trying to survive the hardships of winter, though he might not look it.

And as he stood observing the she-wolf, it was that cold grasp of winter he thought caused a slight ruffling of her fur. Her remark solidified his assumption. Ramos nodded his pale head in agreement before replying with a soft chuckle in his voice. "It’s quite refreshing, if I’m honest. It just doesn’t get cold enough sometimes."

It was welcome. The cold. It brought with it tender memories of his birthplace and memories he had to shove aside for the conversation at hand. Even the snow that clung to his fur along his chest and belly was more welcome than the blood he was still very conscious of marring his otherwise near white muzzle and chest. He hid those memories easily, but, dealing with the urge to clean himself was a little harder. However, his thoughts were interrupted by the female’s change in body language in regards to his question.

"Seems we stumbled across each other in this dark wood." Ramos’ voice was sympathetic, trying to get her chin to rise again. "I haven’t crossed any fresh trails lately so perhaps it is a good thing that we did." He had a soft spot for she-wolves, even ones his own biology told him were unfit to bear pups his size, and hated to see this stranger look so down trodden.

It didn’t seem to last long, though, for he watched as her mismatched eyes landed back upon his turkey and her tongue flashed out from her black muzzle. He chuckled again, the laughter rolling softly from his deep chest upon the brief pulling of her ears. They were just two hungry wolves in the middle of a snowy wonderland. Even the moon above them seemed hungry for the day. While the bird wouldn’t serve as much of a meal for two, the great pale brute could certainly wait. It wasn’t like he had forgotten where the turkeys had taken flight and he could perhaps pull one more if he returned just before daybreak.

He picked the old tom back up, barely able to contain a wince as the blood from its open wounds dampened his chin, and took it upon himself to close the distance between the pair. Ramos dropped it unceremoniously back into the snow just a couple of steps from her. Despite both party’s neutrality, he wasn’t about to push anything too far. "Here ya go, love. I’m not blind so humor me here." Nodding towards his still warm prize, the tri-colored wolf took a step back to settle upon his haunches in the snow, tucking his stump of a tail neatly beneath him as he did so.
