Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

AVERY
Female ~ 16 YEARS OLD ~ 35IN/150LBS ~ Born To Beowulf X Chernobyl
Sibling to Adalmund & Aelfgar~Not Bound

She needed to get out of Iromar, at least for a little while. With her stomach growing and her energy depleting faster, she needed these trips to cool her head and get rid of this restless energy. She knew it would only get worse when the pups came. Then she'd be on den duty. Not that she regretted it. No, she loved pups and she couldn't wait to have more of her own to share that love with. She had a secret inkling Arkane would be looking forward to it as well. They weren't close enough back when Undyne and Azariah was born to really play the parent roles like they should have and raise their children together. He was a good father, but they were still awkard with what they had done. Now, Arkane was more than her student. He was a mature warrior himself and full capable of his own decisions. Yet he'd still chosen to come to Iromar with her and start toward a role as her top warrior in the pack.

Then winter came of course and their connection sealed the deal. Now she was pregnant and he was going to be a father again. She looked forward to showing her children the new world she was building just for them. Them and the rest of Iromar and the future pups to come. She was getting to know her pack members one by one. It was a slow process but she looked forward to knowing each of them individually. She wasn't much of a social creature in her younger days but she was surprised to find that she enjoyed talking to other wolves and finding out how to nudge them in the right direction, whether it be helping them achieve their dreams or just give them some advice to happiness and a brighter future. She wanted that for all of Moladian. A brighter future.

When she saw the dark wolf staring off by the edge of the riverside, she thought surely she must be stuck in good memories. But as she got closer, she saw the bittersweet edge to the female's distant gaze. It was like whatever she was seeing was both a blessing and a curse. There was just a feeling of being lost around the girl. Avery's heart felt for her instantly. When she'd come back to Moladian to find Iromar abandoned and stuck in the darkness, her best friend murdered, and her children scattered to other packs, she'd never felt so lost and alone. She didn't know where to turn until it hit her that her home would always be in the moors and she needed to make it so again. She slowly walked toward the girl, not wanting to scare her or surprise her. Avery stopped a few feet away, standing on the edge of the water as well. Her head turned just enough to watch the girl as she spoke.

"I know you may not feel it right now, but there is always hope, even in lonliness. There is always another step to be taken to turn that misery into joy once more. You just have to be willing to take that step." Her ears flicked toward the female, curious of her response. If Avery could help a lost soul today, that would be worth everything.
