Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

Sila
i can feel the thunder that’s breaking in your heart
At first, she thinks that she has perhaps...done something unusually, for his response is tepid. He sniffs at the air, as if weary of her presence. It is her father she thinks of then and she is glad to find rational thought before any hint of real worry could come for her. She is new to this loner thing, and thus, she is new to how weary others naturally are, too accustomed to the familiarity of knowing your pack members long before you even meet them. To add to it, he smells only of the ocean, and if that is the case...well, he likely isn’t from Moladion. Even children held the scent of the woodlands or a pack beneath rain, snow and mud alike, so to not weary anything familiar...Ah, she is glad. She is glad to know there is still some logic left in her after so long roaming alone.

Besides, it isn’t too long before his voice cuts the air. It is a simple greeting, but it makes her grin, nonetheless, and she meets him with another few waves of her tail, this time just a little more enthusiastically. She paces forward a few steps, her head slowly tilting as she gets a better look at him. He speaks again and she notes the hoarseness of his voice, and when she thinks of that and the nature of his fur – salt-ladden – and the tension in his body...Well, she cannot help but feel the Healer in her want to reach out!

"Oh, certainly not!” She answers as she pauses a few feet from him. Her eyes search, unashamedly, for any injuries he might be trying to conceal. "There are packs nearby, though. The mountains to the south -” she motions with her muzzle to the towering picks in the distance before she motions behind her, "and a moorland to the east. Here, though? It belongs to everybody else!” Using her voice feels strange too but she feels it warm her very core, the familiar coziness of conversation and company slowly but surely working to lift her worries off her shoulders. She can help! It makes her feel good, makes her feel useful. And when she speaks, it is not so easy to get lost in thoughts. This man, despite her better judgement in approaching complete strangers without at least observing first, is a welcome distraction from it all. As for her? Well, and she thinks it with a tiny, sad smile, that’s yet to be seen. Although he doesn’t seem to reject the idea of company, she knows how fast wolves can change.

"I don’t mean to be, uh... presumptuous, but are you...injured at all?” She immediately blushes, her muzzle tilting down to hide the nervousness that crept into her grin as her eyes divert down to the ground. She flexes her toes in the soft soil, her ears flickering back and forth as she forces herself to grin up at him apologetically. "Sorry, sorry. I know...I should introduce myself and all that...but, uh. Well, I’m a healer, you see? I can’t help myself but to worry! I mean, to be so far south...” She bites her lip just a little and glances north towards where all of Moladion rests. How was he here? He surely hadn’t passed through any pack or free lands, at least not for very long...but realistically...he should smell like one of them, at least. She thinks it over, and her eyes slowly drift south towards the waves and shoreline over the horizon. But...no, surely not.
