Susil Crags

Disaster has struck!
The Crags are a series of rocky formations with small caves and crevices throughout. Many of the lower-lying areas of the Crags have been flooded, however, with water pouring in from the Northern stretches of Moladion. Some paths have been completely submerged, and some are nothing more than a few rocky peaks sticking out of the water. The water is fairly slow moving but begins to pick speed up towards the Grotto, becoming a series of intense rapids and waterfalls as it nears the Grotto's entrance.

The area itself is still traversible. However, it can be risky. Large amounts of debris can enter the waterway, creating bridges at times but also creating dams that break and cause ocassional flash-flooding. Be careful, travelers! One wrong step and you could end up finding out where the water goes.

Note: Susil Crags will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

Return to Lunar Children

Moonfeather, huh? Healer and teacher alike it seemed; she had known the woman’s name, but she committed that tidbit to memory too. Maybe it’d be useful in the future to be able to redirect the curiosity of children towards a healer, or if she needed to call upon a mender. Yuki had met Jubilee and learned what she could from the woman, but she seemed the busy type and Yuki had felt pangs of guilt over hypothetically adding to her workload in her imaginings alone. As for Eldrax? Well, she grinned sheepishly. He didn’t seem so bothered with that kind of thinking with his questions – was Yuki a healer too? Did she know what to do? Jeez, she thought with good humour, he’s confident enough to ask the world of a humble Snafflefang!

"Well, I know a bit, but I’d not say enough to completely handle really serious situations, you know? I could keep somebody from dying – I think,” she frowned, making a mental note to perhaps go learn just a little more, "but I’d be better off preventing any injury to start with, don’t you think? That’s part of my duty too – making sure you and your kin don’t go tumbling off any waterfalls.” She gave him a toothy grin, just enough mischief lurking in the corners of her mouth to let him know that he’d definitely been intentionally followed if he had been questioning that at all.

As for lost packs and disaster? Well, she couldn’t keep him out of that kind of trouble entirely, so she’d be better off joining in, right? Really, she had just been thankful – and glad! - that he seemed excited over that new knowledge. In fact, she quite liked that he had a keen enough curiosity to really wonder about the place at all. Paracon. She felt the word in her mouth as she gave a hmm of thought beneath her breath, glancing to the rocks and water thoughtfully. "Well, apparently their king was close to the Angel King of Trenus, so he must have been clever and strong to keep up with that family!” As for the wolves of the pack? She had started to follow him, careful with her paws as she slid across the rocks. "Anybody who followed him must have been brave, I think, knowing their pack could be targeted any time because of that friendship. Spirane wolves are brave, but I don’t think we have to worry about getting into trouble so much as the Paracon wolves might have!” She grinned, but she really wondered if she was right at all. She’d have to ask more questions, try to garner a deeper understanding of what the politics of those places had been like all those years ago. There were surely lessons to be learned, myth and legends to be unearthed.

Eldrax had, in fact, unearthed something – or rather, found it. He seemed excited, and Yuki was immediately brought back from her thoughts as she took off at a swift jog to catch up to him. She bounded over and inspected his discovery, sniffing along the formation, her mouth an “o” of surprise. He’d really done it, and so fast too! At least, he’d found something of interest.

She nodded and gave him a playful nudge against his shoulder with his own, a little nudge of encouragement. "You can tell it’s been through a lot, too. It’s almost like a rock rather than a tree – but you can see the rings, and smell the wood despite it,” she mysed aloud as she rose up on the tree-come-rock, feeling it beneath her toes. She ran her paw across the surface, feeling the ridges. They were smooth and even, ancient bark rather than eroded stone. "They called Paracon a ravine pack, so the river must have run through here somewhere. If that’s the case, the borders may have gone into where Iromar is now – Iromar is, after all, a bit like a sunken river, I think.” She glanced south to where the moors lay, pondering for a moment as to whether their leader might know more about the past. From what Yuki had heard, she was an older wolf, though likely no wolf could possibly be old enough to have lived during the time. But maybe her parents, or her teachers, or somebody she had known as a child had been there? Yuki clicked her tongue, as if committing the task to memory.

"If that’s the case, we can try heading further south from here! Maybe this tree is the first of many hidden things here,” she said standing tall atop it as she pointed her muzzle towards where Iromar lay. "What do you think? It’s strange to think that the moors might have been a ravine in the past, don’t you think? Do you think Spirane was always as it were, or did it rise up out of the ground where there were no mountains before?” She’d have to keep his mind busy as they searched, right? What better way than to hear his own imaginings!
