The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Note:The Grotto will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

Make 'em bow, one by, one by one...

Sorath knew her pack, knew the body count of a decimated lands and knew the smell of blood, knew the feel of conjealing blood beneath her feet. She had seen the final gasp of wolves that helped to feed her mother. She had seen the intestines writhing on the ground of family members. She had seen the dead blue eyes of her father staring back at her with blood from the corner of his mouth. It was his eyes that haunted her dreams. She halfway wondered if they haunted her mother's thoughts every time that Sorath looked at her. While her coat mimicked her mother's rare Spine of Hell markings, her eyes and build favored her father. Her father's daughter, she had heard her mother say. And yet, none of her siblings had survived, crushed between teeth unyielding.

Sometimes it kept Sorath up at night.

Her blue eyes watched the other, noting the dark maroon throat and the flick of red that licked between her eyes. Sorath analyzes her quietly, and determined that she was probably not a Demon. Probably not the pack that her mother was hoping to find here. And so her teeth bear, showing the incoming adult teeth while still sporting the milk teeth that gave her age away. A growl escaped her throat, and she snapped again at the other, her hair standing up to make herself bigger than a 6 month old puppy. "Then I will show you what a Demon is..."

Again she snaps at the air, refusing to be cornered this time. Refusing to play the victim again. "And if you hurt me, my mother will tear you from limb to limb and eat your heart to prevent you from a noble death." She had left her mother sleeping, but had no doubt that her mother would come to rescue if this wolf chose to hurt her. Regardless, Sorath was not afraid. Hepzibah had taught her youngest pup the rules and what awaited them at the end. Death was something that came with being a demon and though her dreams were still filled with the screams of death, and pain--Sorath was learning not to fear it.

...you should see me in a crown
