She hadn't expected much company up here, let alone a foal of all things. She expected maybe a curious mare looking to make friends or even Liland himself trying to re-assert his dominance. She was really surprised to hear somone coming and turn her head to see none other than a little cream colored filly. Snorting softly, she looked around, wondering where the filly's parents were. Liland was probably her dad but where was her mother? Didn't mother and foal stay attached at the hip for most of their life until they become an adult? It wasn't like that for her and her own mother but then, she'd never been the usual. Her ears flicked back and forth uncertainly as the filly got closer. She turned toward the filly, even putting her body between the filly and the cliff edge, just in case she got any ideas.

It was one thing for her to face death. It was a whole other thing for her to let a filly endanger themselves. That weird protective streak still ran strong in her from watching the two mares in Rougaru's herd come back with newborns, it would seem. The filly started chewing and Monster lowered her head a little, one ear pricking n curiosity. She knew the gesture and what it meant. She just didn't know what the filly was going to do now that she was here. At the filly's sudden question of whether she was sad, though, Monster couldn't help but pull her head back with a chuckle. She shook her head. "No, I'm not sad, little one." Then there were more questions. Monster listened to them all, ending with the filly's name. Rayna. She smiled, an actual true smile.

"Nice to meet you, Rayna. I'm Monster." Glancing around, she gave a soft sigh and tossed her head. "Not mad so much as frustrated, I guess you could say." She took another look around, scowling thoughtfully before she looked back at the filly. "I don't know if I like it here or not yet. I mean, the other side of the island wasn't that bad, I guess." She didn't know why she wasn't being her usual smartass self to the filly. Ugh, was this what motherhood would be like? Boring. The filly seemed distracted, one ear flicked back as if listening for someone. Monster tilted her head, her brow arched. "Where's your mother?"
