Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

LOKI

He stepped back from the fresh carcass, licking his bloodied lips as he looked over the body in an almost bored fashion. Well.....that was almost fun. He'd come across the wolf and when the other male offered a hunt, Loki felt inclined to take him up on it. He didn't know what it was like to hunt with another wolf. He hadn't done so since he went with his own parents as a pup. One he left his mother's side, he did a lot of things on his own, including hunting. He was interested, though. Or at least, curious enough to find out. So he went with the male, who called himself Harker. Weird name, right? Loki thought so, but he bit his tongue and walked with the male. How did he ever expect to get any hunting done when he wouldn't shut his fucking mouth? Loki didn't see how it was possible. Even so, he looked around at the scenery as they walked, glancing over to nod at the right spots when Harker looked his way. He figured he had this whole listening thing down pat. That is, until Harker expected him to talk about himself.

Well, crap. So he did what he felt was expected of him. He talked. "I came back to see my father but he was killed by another wolf so when I found her, she avoided most of my questions but then I found my nephew who invited me back to his pack but he's gone now and I left the pack." He didn't quite expect Harker to stare at him so intensely. Did he not say it right? "What?" He tilted his head as he asked, but Harker abruptly changed the subject and went right back to jabber jawing. When Loki actually caught a scent of something, maybe a wounded deer, he politely told Harker about it but instead of getting excited, his hunting partner actually looked disappointed. Then he promptly started giving Loki direction, like he'd never hunted a day in his life. Wtf? He told Loki to stand in the bushes over there and he would run the deer at him and help him bring it down. Okay, good in theory.

Of course, that's not at all what happened. Harker alerted the deer of his presence too soon. Probably yakking. The deer spooked and ran wide, completely missing the bush where Loki was waiting. He didn't have a shot in hell even if he'd lunged. The deer was wounded on its shoulder (looked like a bite or something) but it wasn't slowing it down much so pretty soon, the deer was lost to the wind. Then Harker came at him huffing like it was HIS fault. He told Loki he was too slow and they were going to starve to death at this rate. Loki's answer? "I can help with that." So he jumped him. Okay, so maybe that was rude, but the guy wouldn't shut up and Loki was bored and actually a little hungry now. So he did them both a favor. Now Harker wouldn't die of starvation and Loki could have peace and quiet, and a bonus: food. What could possibly go wrong?
