It’s been some time since Gent has braved the slopes of the Peak, and he can feel it in every nook and cranny of his body. His muscles complain with every step, and despite the cool spring day he soon feels the slick sheen of sweat upon his roaned coat. He does not travel very high, in part because he thinks it might kill him, but also because he knows from experience that the Vulcans can often be found in the shade of the forested lowlands that skirt the great mountain. At least, he hopes that will be the case today.

As he walks, his mind spins in countless directions. He has always prided himself on his ability to remain neutral in conflict, but as the tension in the Lagoon continues to build, he sees that less and less as a viable option. He may not intend to play the role Cullen desires of him, but Gent will play a role somehow. At first this role had been a watcher, in order to gather intel on where each bachelor stood in relation to the impending war. Now his role is becoming more active. Gent still does not know where his path will lead him, but he can no longer stand and watch things as they unravel.

He is breathing hard as he finally crests a small hill that sits just above the tallest trees in the valley below. The mountain is at his back, and all around him is a bright, sunlight meadow. He will be easy to see here. After taking a few moments to scour the area and catch his breath, Gent releases a loud bugle that is amplified by the rock wall behind him. Now he can only wait, and hope that the Peak will listen.
