The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Note:The Grotto will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

Lucia

She hadn't been sticking around her family maybe as much as she used to and for that, she felt a sort trip of guilt. She knew her mother missed Myrria terribly and she, too, couldn't help but wonder what had happened to her older half sister, but thinking on it was only driving her crazy and there was only so much of that she could do. Exodus, meanwhile, always seemed to be away from the den checking for traps and such, like he was a paranoid old man who thought someone was out to get them. When Lucia would try to ask him about it, he would always shrug it off like it was no big deal which only made her worry about him more. Was he growing senile on her? Maybe he was seeing things or thinking there was something to be afraid of when there wasn't. She had to explore all the possibilities and it scared her to think of losing her father like that. But she couldn't think of such things. She shook her head of such thoughts as she got closer to the wolf who called for her, curosity in her gaze as she looked at the other female.

When she spoke up, the other female stumbled and Lucia was quick to gasp and pin her ears in dismay. "Oh gosh, I'm sorry! I didn't mean to startle you." Finally the other female looked at her and grinned and Lucia could only assume that meant she was forgiven. She smiled back in return, her tail wagging as the female told her she had called and her name was Ella. She mentioned someone as Lucia's "old man" which made her tilt her head and look at the female in question. She must be talking about her father, right? Is that what she called them? "My father?" She couldn't help but confirm, just in case she was wrong. The female said she wasn't sure why she was sent to get Lucia, saying her family was staying with Lucia's and then she said Exodus' name which made Lucia's eyes widen in recognition. So she was talking about her father, then.

She nodded with another smile. "Of course. Well, it's a pleasure to meet you, Ella. I'm sure my mother and father will enjoy the company." She only hoped it would help bring Malleah out of the depressed shell she'd been since Myrria disappeared again. Just the thought made Lucia sigh in resignation before she focused again on the female before her. "Tell me about yourself, Ella. Parden me, but you don't sound like you're from Moladian. Did you have to travel very far to get here?"
