PRIME MINISTER'S DECREE

"None." - Leader

The Offspring

Diccon (Cicada x Khar'pern)

Rules

• The Vulcan Peak is where homeless mares come to live as a sisterhood. Stallions may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Warriors keep mainly to fighting, Thinkers keep mainly to raiding, and Politicians may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Codebreaker or Prime Minister for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Prime Minister maintains order within the Peak and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Peak works on the Rules page.

send me reeling

i’m on fire, again
These mountains are magnificent. Every way she looks, Rhadra is gifted with mounded earth rising ever higher, slopes shagged in yellowing grass and low shrubbery, boulders and stone veining the landscape with gray and slate, backdropped by an impossibly vast sky so blue she feels swept away with the clouds every time her gaze drifts skyward to locate Keen. The hawk wheels, wheels, and her heart follows that easy spiral as she works her way up another slope.

And then, suddenly, when Rhadra lifts her eyes from watching where she’s placed her feathered feet, there he is, descending light as a cloud come down to earth to greet her. “Kestral!” she cries in delight, and feels the last stones weighing down her chest roll away to somewhere deeper inside of her, somewhere less accessible in her waking hours, as they come together on the incline.

“Yes, for the winter at least— that is, if you won’t mind some company,” she adds with a humble tuck of her chin. She doesn’t think he’ll deny her that, doesn’t even feel the least bit self-conscious about asking, only embarrassed at her assumption that Kestral will be as delighted to spend a season with her as she will be with him.

“I followed Keen,” she tells him, her smile warming again. “And I’ll confess I looked for her after we first parted ways even though I’d left the mountains. How are you?” she asks, reaching out to nose his cheek, energized at his presence, exuberant to be somewhere that finally feels like home.
