To say she was pissed was putting it mildly. She'd been watching this pissing match between Rougaru and Liland since the beginning and the amusement was wearing thin. What began as a battle of testosterone and who was the baddest stallion on the islands had turned into a full out brawl with no thought for the lives that would be twisted and ruined in the middle of it. She was sick and tired of it. She'd thought when Rougaru beat Liland and brought Zjeena the Bay herd, that would be the end of it but of course she should have known better. Liland didn't like being knocked off his pedestal so instead of taking the loss and trying to fight back for his herd, he went after the main victim of this whole thing: Zjeena. Well, Monster was sick and damn tired of it. Zjeena was her best friend and she wasn't going to take this lying down either.

Zjeena had lost too much. Her pride, her hope for a long time, even her will to live at one point. If it wasn't for herself being there to talk her through it, Monster had little doubt that Zjeena would have found the urge to live through that terrible birthing on the beach. Liland had taken so much from her, separating her from her children again and again, forcing her to carry his own child like it was some obligation to him, some contract that she'd signed on the dotted line even though she wasn't even in his herd at the time. And she'd gone along with it, cooperated just to keep the peace while Rougaru fought tooth and hoof to keep her safe and happy. Yet Liland played the victim through it all like they were bullying him. Well, fuck that. Monster wouldn't stay silent any longer. She was tired of watching her friend's life get torn every which way again and again.

It had been a while since she'd gone into the free lands. She used to come here regularly just to keep Rougaru on his toes and have him come chase her down. It was a thrill. But here she was round with his second child and still she was able to make the cold swim across the ocean to the Common, fueled by anger and a need for justice of some kind. Maybe she couldn't fight Liland in a full battle right now cause of her condition but she'd be damned if she was going to do nothing. That just wouldn't do. When she came on shore, she shook out her grullo paint coat and looked around, her nostrils flared as she tasted the air. There. It didn't take her long to find his scent. Her eyes narrowed and she set off at a trot toward the scent. She hadn't seen Liland face to face since her time in the Bay with him. True, he wasn't mean to her in that time, though he did make that empty threat to harm her if anything happened to Zjeena at the time and when she called him on it, he went back on his word and said he wasn't going to do anything. She knew at that time what kind of stallion he was.

Yet at the time he seemed harmless, just a desperate stallion wanting his mate back. Since then, he'd proven not only that Zjeena was not seen as his mate or even his equal, but as an inferior meant to be held down by rules and bred like a sex slave because he wanted Fjord children. It was disgusting. He could say what he liked about Rougaru but at least her lead stallion treated her like she could do anything he could do. She could fight. She could leave when she damn well wanted to. She could choose not to have his children and she would be damned if anyone would ever separate her from them. As the mare and cream stallion came into view, Monster threw her head up, a scream leaving her lips, letting out all the angst she felt, all the rage for her friend.

Swishing her tail, she pranced toward them, arching her pretty neck and flattening her ears to her head. She made no move of hostility toward the mare, wanting her to know that she was not the intended target of her rage, her narrowed gaze only for the cream stallion who stood there like a deflated chew toy when she knew much differently. She stood off between the two but off to the side so she didn't crowd them. After all, she had an innocent life to protect herself. Her head lifted and she glanced between the two before leveling her gaze at the mare. "Yes, allow me to introduce the stallion before you. This is Liland of the Bay, Liland the masogynistic fruitcake who believes in stealing children away from their mothers and making captives of the ones he claims to love." The words hissed off her tongue like acid as her gaze turned to glare at him full on, her front hoof stomping in the dirt as her ears flattened once more.

"You could have chosen to rebuild your herd or hell, even just fight for it back but instead you take the coward's way and challenge for HER. Haven't you done enough to Zjeena?" She took a bold step toward him, raising her head in challenge as she bared her teeth. "First and only warning, Liland. Back the fuck down." Her gaze moved to the mare, softening as if in apology for bringing this drama to the Common. She knew it wasn't this mare's fault and she didn't want her to be dragged into the middle of it, but Monster wanted the stallion before her to know she meant business. Snorting softly, she looked back to Liland, her gaze hardening once more. "If you don't, I will make this a regular trip. I will come between every mare you aim to bring back to your herd. I will make your life a living hell. You think you're suffering now? Continue playing this 'woe is me' card and I'll make damn sure you can live by it. You want your herd back? Fine, fight for it like you have in the past. But leave HER out of it." She leaned forward as she said it, gnashing her teeth at the air between them in a clear warning. Her tail lashed at her flanks in clear agitation, her muscles quivering, begging for use.
