Start off by saying I haven’t had time to read through everyone’s responses so sorry if I repeat things which have already been said and if I misunderstand the current system as its not something I’ve messed with muchly yet.

1) Do you feel that the battle ranking system should be altered to be more accessible to new players? If yes, how so?

I think making it slightly more accessible would not hurt, and I will get into this a bit later in question 3 I believe. Personally, I prefer a system that runs more on ability and the actual battle itself without padding it, but I can understand the desire to keep a new player from coming in, winning a territory and vanishing without the effort. I could even see maybe allowing players to track posts for a point system, say so many posts give you points that could be used to a bonus in a battle or something to reward active characters? Or so many posts in a month giving you a bonus exp point?

2) How would you feel about a "beginner's luck bonus" being offered to unranked characters, giving them an advantage in their first battle (e.g. an extra point/side of the die)?

I don’t really like this as I feel it negates the intention of the system. If it is implemented perhaps once per player instead of per character, to keep people from simply creating one new character after the next to receive the bonus.

3) Do you feel the length of time it takes to reach rank 3 is too long? If yes, what do you feel a reasonable length of time would be?

I have seen some discussion on the amount of time it takes, and I’m not sure I’m misunderstanding but I think it amounted to more than a year and not 7 months? Regardless, I think the best way to adjust this without making it ‘easier’ is to maybe increase the amount of points which can be earned a month. Doing this either by perhaps RP battles worth more points (which I think is the best option seeing as RP battles obviously take more effort than a dice roll) and opening up what types of monthly battles can award a point. The biggest thing for me is that my characters aren’t the type to run around randomly challenging for some horses freedom or for territories but I would like to use the system in a way that feels natural for them.

4) Do you feel that dice roll battles should be altered (e.g. count for less exp)? How do you feel about dice rolls for practice? Do they add anything to the game, or should they be nixed?

Seeing as the process to get to rank 3 is already so time consuming, I wouldn’t like to see the dice roll battle value decrease, but perhaps increasing RP battle reward. Maybe 2 points for winning an RP battle and 1 for losing?

5) Should characters be allowed to take on more challenges per season than the current limit allows, as long as they are willing? If yes, how should this affect exp limits?

I definitely think this is a good idea as it would allow more points to be gained per season which I don’t think is a bad thing for those who are devoting to the grind. I think however much it is increased exp limits per month should be increased slightly to allow for them to count.

6) How would you define a "co-lead"? How should we classify them, for the purpose of leader-specific rules regarding battles/raids/territories, etc?

I think Co-Lead isn’t necessarily the “beta stallion” position but perhaps the mate/parter/whoever who rules the territory as an equal as far as decision making goes.

7) Should co-leads/queens/consorts/companions count as high-stakes in battles where they are being challenged for, since the actual territory owner/boss/prime minister is protected from being challenged for, but co-leads and other elite ranks have no such protection? Or should they remain low-stakes, since they are only one "thing" being challenged for?

I can definitely see them counting as high stakes due tot heir position so long as it is clearly defined.

8) Should co-leads be eligible for being challenged to a battle even if the territory owner has already been challenged for the season, or should they be protected from this as part of the privilege of being a co-lead?

I definitely think the monthly limit should be per individual character and not per territory. It could be used as a safeguard by people to abuse the system imo.

9) Should co-leads be required to share posting duties with the territory owner in order to keep the territory active? If yes, how would you suggest this be enforced, and what what type of co-lead should be count toward this (i.e. just full co-lead, or should queens/consorts/figureheads be applicable as well)?

I don’t think they should share the posting requirements. I feel like any co-lead is something more determined by the lead’s player and if they fall inactive up to that character/player to replace them.

10) Should co-leads count toward the player territory limit? I.e. if a player has two characters who are co-leads, should they not be allowed to claim a territory? If yes, how would you suggest this be enforced, and what type of co-lead should be count toward this (i.e. just full co-lead, or should consorts/figureheads be applicable as well)?

I agree that they are more a support position as you say and shouldn’t count towards the limit. Again it is something decided by the leader of the territory and can be changed out at will.
