Hello, World

O O O

He hadn't meant to put the bay roan on the spot by asking her permission to join them. He just didn't want to make her further uncomfortable by forcing his presence. Eadaz looked at her sister and Akello could see the taunting light in her eyes as she waited for her sister to respond. He would have smirked at the playfulness in the air but he didn't want Sabran to think he was ganging up on her with her sister. He just liked the sibling banter. It made him miss his own little family in Salem. He was begging to grow a little homesick since leaving to go the Prairie. He felt like things were slow to bring him closer to his mother and her family but he didn't want to give up, either.

His attention returned to the two mares as Sabran said it was fine. He noted the tension in the air and dipped his head in acknowledgement, though reminded himself to take things slow so she could grow accustomed to him and he would know when to take a step back. Eadaz was so welcoming with that ever-ready grin and her friendly expression were contagious. Akello couldn't help but smile back at her, ears pricked, as he stepped closer to them, but made sure it was more toward Eadaz so Sabran wouldn't feel so nervous.

At the question of where he was from, he smiled. "Originally, Salem, in the Desert. My father is the Lead Stallion there. My mother left to join the rest of her family on Luthien in the Prairie so now I'm visiting there, trying to meet with them." He never minded being open with others. He had nothing to hide, after all. At the chestnut's question about his markings, he snorted softly and shook his head. "Not that I know of. I've never seen another with the stripes before, but my spots are the color of my mother and my father is a paint so I got the spotted pattern from him, I would think."

Catching movement, he glanced curiously over at Sabran, making sure he didn't ignore her altogether. He just didn't want to pay too much attention to her if it made her uncomfortable. She seemed to be more worried about him though. He caught the apologetic smile and gave a soft reassuring one in return, his eyes twinkling with amusement. He didn't mind the questions, especially if talking about himself helped ease the tension. He didn't even try to ask about them, not wanting them to feel like he was prying. If they wanted to volunteer information, he would listen, but this was all about gaining their trust and he didn't want to ruin that.
