Re(4): Hey radio kid

Damnit Jim Olinick, I have to truth check you AGAIN!. Radioman didn't block St Louis or Midkansas boards. I figured YOU had something to do with the Midkansas board going down since you started out in Wichita, but I wouldn't have accused you of it because I never saw what caused it to go down, other than maybe what I DO suspect you of, unfairly attacking Cliff.

I wouuld never bother mentioning you by name in here because you're just not that important, but you need to own up to your false writing and stalking. Notice youve never denied it.

Lets get back to radio, something you never talk about but trash rip and read radio anchors--wgim despite your false and ignorant claims, do write the local news and edit the newscasts and rewrite the wire service which is generally just lifted copy out of the particpating newspapers. Well you finally quit saying radio sues AP, they really don't. AP's an association of newspapers, and UPI has always had a 'broadcast wire' for RTV to subscribe to that adds some light features, does headline summaries and slightly modified the style. I noticed you actually said UPI the other day...good, you're learning!

Radio news has generally come from people with broadcast journalism degrees (that was my field at WSU). Nobody called radio news people 'announcers'.

YOU may not know that, but everybody on the creative and production side of the media does. Most of us have never actually seen a salesman except walking down the hall once a week for the sales manager's 'motivation meeting.. </sarcasm> Most of the good ads are written and produced with jingles and jingle beds out of agencies.

The most boring ones I ever heard in this market started with "Hi, it's Ellen..." or "Airman here..."

Yes I read a fair number of radio ads written for our salesmen by the traffic lady and none of them were entertaining and most of them used the same tired Spotspeak phrases for every client.

The best radio ads played on stations run by the PD, not the SM. PD's at good stations realized their CM's were part of the total station sound so they insisted the comply with the standards. Ya didn't hear bush league spots on a major league station--they just weren't allowed on the air! I figured most of THOSE were written on somebody's kitchen table, and often ran 35 or 65 seconds so ya had to race through em to get the copy in! Those are from people who don't understand how to write persuasive spots.
