PRIME MINISTER'S DECREE

"None." - Leader

The Offspring

Diccon (Cicada x Khar'pern)

Rules

• The Vulcan Peak is where homeless mares come to live as a sisterhood. Stallions may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Warriors keep mainly to fighting, Thinkers keep mainly to raiding, and Politicians may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Codebreaker or Prime Minister for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Prime Minister maintains order within the Peak and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Peak works on the Rules page.

let me be brave

Oswin was… intrigued by the words Clarity put forward concerning the upcoming election. In her youth she would have been hot-headed and taken immediate defense, but years of learning to hold her tongue and save the battles around Mariael helped her be more intrigued than offended. Since her return to the Peak in winter, Oswin had done many things to reinstate her purpose in the Peak. Though young, Róisín had been there as well. From her thought-provoking conversation with Oswin and Bane, to the trip she and Oswin had taken to the Lagoon to speak with the Boss to try and find common ground between the Peak and the Lagoon, Oswin was already willing to put her faith in the mare.

Was she moving too quickly? Too eager to set the pieces down so the Peak could work toward to the power she wanted it to be? Had Clarity been right to speak up, suggest that no one deserved the spots they had campaigned for? She had claimed no one had stepped forward to speak with her, but where was she when Oswin, Róisín, Kolfinna, and Kunžak had spoken and discussed the current status of the Peak? Why was it the fault of the mares who’d been more than present the last few seasons?

Maybe it wasn’t that, maybe it was on Clarity herself. Either way, Oswin knew better than to hold personal offense. The complaint had been that she hadn’t said hello to her yet, and Oswin couldn’t expect a sister to vote to be led by someone she didn’t know.

So, as soon as she knew there was concern in the Peak, even from one sister, Oswin moved. She walked through the territory, seeking her out. When at last she spotted the two-toned mare she offered a polite smile and drew close, stretching her neck and offering her nose to exchange a pleasant breath before she tucked her head back.

“Hello, Clarity. I’m Oswin.”

She didn’t press. She waited to see what her sister would want to say or ask of her, if anything.

oswin
this is as brave as I know how to be.
I know it’s gonna hurt you, but please… be a little proud of me.
