long story short it was a bad time;

my waves meet your shore, ever and evermore;

What has she done? There’s no denying what will come this Spring - a foal, and no father or herd around to support it. That is assuming she somehow makes it through the Winter, alone and wandering. It was one thing when she was in perfect health, but now? Now, she has more than just herself to consider. That’s what has driven her back to the Commons. Maybe…maybe she can find some unsuspecting stallion, flirt a little and secure herself a place in a herd. Once she’s managed that it shouldn’t be so hard to….convince him the foal is his.

It isn’t the best plan that she’s ever had, but at least it is a starting point. It should be easy enough - assuming the child comes out with spots, there’s no real way to prove it doesn’t just take after her. So she’s back in the godforsaken Commons, where she had washed up so many months ago and eagerly fled when that irritating little pest from the Lagoon tried to force her to leave with him. Her handsome golden savior had eventually drifted, with no offer for Fearne to follow along. She had assumed he would express more interest, invite her back to whatever home he held and she would settle in easily enough. Unfortunately, things hadn’t worked out that way. They fled the Commons together, napped, and when she woke he was gone. She’s been alone ever since, flitting from place to place and coming to terms with this new reality.

The sun rises warm over the Commons, burnished gold glowing around her and glinting off her coat; it’s beautiful, but she can’t enjoy it and so Fearne closes her eyes unhappily. There is no use crying over it now - she’s made her choices, all for a pretty face, and now she must accept them. She needs to find somewhere to go, needs to find someone to take her in and raise her coming child safely as part of a herd. She glances around, not spotting anyone she can approach, and settles in to wait. She can’t leave - not until she has somewhere to go.
