Boss's Decree

"For every brother you bring to our
midst, you may keep a trinket all to
yourself. She will not be sullied or traded, unless you deem otherwise. But should you bring a mare here without a new brother first, then I will consider her property of the Lagoon as a whole
and do with her as I see fit." - Garmr

Rules

• The Lagoon is where homeless stallions come to live as a brotherhood. Mares may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Soldiers keep mainly to fighting, Thieves keep mainly to raiding, and Associates may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Marauder or Boss for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Boss maintains order within the Lagoon and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Lagoon works on the Rules page.

• Upon election, the Boss can issue a rule for members to follow during their tenure. It is up to leadership to enforce.

sing an ode to the sun

The first thing he noticed about the Lagoon was the humidity.

The heat was not so unexpected. It was late summer, after all. But he had always associated humidity with fog and winter rain, so to experience it in conjunction with summer warmth was... something new, certainly. But he didn't find it all that unpleasant--to be honest, something so unusual only made this new place more intriguing. His nostrils flared, taking in the faint scent of multiple stallions.

Had this land been claimed by a bachelor herd? It was a pretty good choice. Look at the lush growth all around, the flourishing greenery and the soft ripples in the water. It wouldn't be a bad place to live... and Jin considered.

There might be more bragging rights in being the sole leader of a herd, the stallion to whom each member looked, but the thought of taking such a position after all the tragedy and suspicion that had happened only left a sour taste in his mouth. He didn't need a herd of his own. He didn't want that kind of power, or to fight endlessly to defend it. He'd left his home to prove it: to prove that he really was no threat, that he had truly not plotted his brother's death, that he'd never wanted such a thing in the first place.

So it was no question at all, really.

Jin proceeded at a leisurely place, ambling further inland and pausing to pick at a patch of vegetation every so often. He wasn't in any particular rush to look for people to meet, but neither did he try to actively avoid others. Surely a bachelor herd in a land so spacious and lush would have no problem accepting an uninvited guest, after all?
