1. I don't like the idea of extending the year to 8 months. While I do understand the point that it would give us more time for some plots, I think that ultimately the only affect will be more players fast-aging foals (which I find personally unappealing and is something I feel breaks the character progression of the game) to further some plots and still using liquid time to finish up older threads. I also worry that a plot that needed to go on over a year would now take 8 months in real life. Longer time to get something done menas more chance for real life to crop up and people to disappear.
2. Per season is fine, but if the season is doubled in length the cap for challenges should be as well.
3. If the season is doubled in length, I think this needs to be reassesed. Per-month is too frequent but per season (once every 2 months) would be too infrequent.
4. I think per month is how it should stay; these aren't used often enough that reducing their frequency needs to occur imo.
5. Perhaps once a year scheduled elections, but if leadership is gone (ie: elected leader goes inactive/on away for >2 months) a new election is triggered? Replies:
