There is a huge problem with your argument in that you are ignoring the physics that relate to the android on the return of service.
I just randomly selected a return by Lopez during the final Miami meet, and using a video editor I see the number of frames between his release and the point where his opponent caught the ball at about mid-court was 77, which works outs to about 2.5 seconds. So of course the pelota is not traveling at light speed, and that wouldn't be much different for an android.
Now, since the server uses his momentum to move forward to a central position, how do you know that he couldn't read the trajectory of the pelota and easily move into position to cover it?
So that is the key. If the cancha is about 40 feet wide, the human has to move laterally 20 plus feet. (Usain Bolt hit a peak speed of 40 feet per second, FWIW.) It seems possible that even with pin-point accuracy from the android, the human server might have a chance to read and react to the return. Replies:
