The incentive to remain a firefighter paramedic is nonexistent. If you bump that base salary closer to Lt pay, or give some retention bonus, maybe it’ll stop the bleeding. Also, it wouldn’t hurt to have a certain percentage of all promotions include a medic. If anyone is against finding a solution, be prepared for a medic/emt partnership in the ambos. Replies:
