Ice Mountain

The Ice Mountain is much smaller than Wolf Mountain, yet climbing up it is far more difficult and shouldn't be attempted in winter. Some creatures collect the shiny stones at the peak of this mountain for necklaces.

Kunoichi had managed to sneak away from her mother and packlands. Her mother was busy, the dragons with her, and the griffon off doing whatever it is her Kunoichi’s mother had asked of her. These circumstances had provided Kunoichi with the perfect opportunity. Stealth was one thing she had taught herself well, she was much better at it than others her age and adults would not expect it from her. She was still quite young, a little over 5 months now. The pup was tri colored with black grey and white, and now visible was the mark of crimson around her eyes. There was a stripe of crimson above both her bright indigo eyes with 2 curved, horizontal stripes under her eyes. A mask of sorts, and it stood out against face. She waved her tail behind her, flicking it absently. Her eyes searched the sky, she knew her destination but she did not know how to get back there. She had a secret, but the reasons behind it were a mystery to her. Perhaps if she made her way back to the cave and to her father and other 2 siblings she would figure it out. The only thing, she had to get there. She was taller than others her age, especially for a female. She was lean and slender, all toned muscle, long thick fur and cunning. The mountain peak was her new destination, from there hopefully she could locate Misty Islands. Her first encounter was back at the lands namesake; Wolf Mountain. She was inexperienced with traveling on her own and was a bit reckless, even careless some would say. If her mother found out she would surely be disappointed…then be sure to push training harder. But she had learned to always be on guard, always be aware.

She knew the basics of fighting, but she did have speed and a silver tongue. She had a way with words but if anything did come to a fight she could most likely calm the situation down. And her trek had taught her other ways of fighting, hunting even too. But that was mostly thanks to her stealth. She raised her head up the mountain, right now she was at its base. The climb looked long, dangerous too, especially when the sun was out and giving its rays to the snow and ice. She knew that it would probably be soft, not hard packed. Given her youthful energy and will power to find out what she wanted to know, she bounded up and began her climb.
She quickly and easily fell into her regular rhythm, and even though her steps weren’t completely silent, they were sure quiet. The soft snow was taking the light impact of her paws without so much as a crunch. So she started out quiet, her breathing steady, but her dark colors would be visible from high above. Soon after though, after an hour or 2 of her constant trek, Kunoichi found herself starting to become short of breath, coming as shallow breaths. She steadied it by taking deeper breaths, but kept moving forward towards its peak. After another hour or so her muscles were burning, and she began to feel light-headed. The lack of oxygen to her body took its toll on her muscles, and her brain given the black haze around her eyes. Her breathing had once again turned shallow, and more audible, but she was getting closer and closer to the half way mark. She came upon a new area, more rock than snow. Without stopping, she placed a tentative paw on it, assessing it quickly. It would shift easily, so she would have to tread even lighter. Here her steps were whispered thuds, coming to the rock in a steady beat as she continued her progress. She started on focusing her breathing again, ‘deep breaths, focus’ she told herself. She needed all of the oxygen she could get for her body and mind. Her nose caught faint traces of another she-wolf, but it was so minute Kunoichi put it out of her mind, thinking some wolf from before too trekked the mountainside weeks or even months before. Now that she was higher up the mountain, every sound seemed to amplify and echo. She noticed this and tried to adjust herself accordingly.
Oblivious was she to Dracana above her on the edge of her preferred ledge. She was coming upon it quickly though. Kunoichi hoped to make the peak and find the island, and in turn the rest of her family.
