Ice Mountain

The Ice Mountain is much smaller than Wolf Mountain, yet climbing up it is far more difficult and shouldn't be attempted in winter. Some creatures collect the shiny stones at the peak of this mountain for necklaces.

Who knew two could play his game?

It was Tycoon's downfall that he assumed the femme was the same as she'd been in her youth. Manipulation had never been a strong point, but he was used to getting what he wanted with the cruelty of his temper-tantrums. There had been so few that could handle him -- and even them, it seemed, he'd driven away. The three females that had tolerated him eventually drifted away and he was left by his sorrowful, lonesome self. It was exactly what he'd never wanted and yet he'd been unable to quiet his sharp tongue. The question was... did he honestly wish to scare her away? It was a question he didn't wish to answer, and so he'd let it go; it could flit from his mind, lost in the walls he'd built up around himself to try and hide just how deplorable he really was -- even that act failed him.

"I can blame you." Obviously he could blame all he wanted, but it didn't make it true. "I can blame you, and them, and everyone who ever walked away without a second thought." The wolf stuck his snout up and gave a puff of breath, carried up and away like smoke on the icy wind. "You're all the same." He didn't believe that. Ravenshadow still held a place in his heart that made him ache with longing. Even StarChaser for all those years she'd been silenced had left an imprint that caused him to see her behind closed eyelids late at night when he realized how truly detestable he'd been to be by himself. When she stated he wasn't good enough it caused him to flinch unexpectedly. The brute knew she was right. Tycoon wasn't good enough for anybody. He wasn't even good enough for himself, and that was why he was in such a sorry state. The words echoed around in his head, biting back at him and the low self-esteem he'd always suffered, taunting, teasing, even as Star had claimed not to have intended.

What would happen if she found the children? Tycoon had truthfully tried for them at one time. He'd attempted to be a father -- like he should have. Lowechin had been so black-hearted, Talan had driven him back with her dark wit, and Urchin... the weakling made him see that part of himself he despised and so he'd left them eventually, as they had him. "There you see? There's nothing you want from me so go on your way then. It's dim-witted of you to worry for me. I'm fine. I don't need you. I don't want you." Tycoon swallowed, faltering for a moment before he dropped those burning eyes to stare at his paws in a dejected manner. Why couldn't he convince himself of those words? Even as he'd said it he knew he needed someone, and he didn't want to have only his shadow beside him anymore. StarChaser should loathe him, and maybe he could spout off enough nonsense to make her do so. "I'm fine... on my own." The black male turned away from her, tail held low and head held lower as he slunk a short distance off, inwardly cursing himself when he hesitated to glance back at the other.
