After moving over to the spotted and black colt's, she reached down to nudge them awake. Jabberwocky had quickly jerked awake, his big brown eyes wide with curiosity when he glanced to his mother and then to the stallion behind her. The small boy had no time to speak, since his mother was busy pushing both him and Balderdash toward the water. He yelped a bit when the cold water swallowed his small body, but he grew to like it as he came up to his mother's side. He suspected his Spotted brother was on her other side since he saw nothing else near him.

Ali's ears were firmly pressed back against her skull, but even if she wasn't being alert, she knew Nikola knew his way home and carefully followed after the stallion. This would be her third home and she silently hoped Nikola wouldn't take off, because truthfully i think Ali was beginning to have a small crush on the guy. Shaking her head, her pale locks flopped against her skin, and she then glanced down to take in Jabberwocky as his head bopped up and down in the water. The golden ess seemed so focused on her own son, that she did not notice the way Balderdash seemed to drift from her side. The small boy had made no sound, so she had no clue.

It seemed like forever before they reached his home, well..their home now. Ali's eyes lifted up to take in the small dark clouds that seemed to gather over the land, and it wasn't long till she felt the raindrops falling onto her. Just great, her mind muttered. With a small grunt of effort, she hauled her body from the dark cold water. When she stood alone on the shore, she gave a small shake, like a dog which sent her tottering off to side until Jabberwocky slipped up against his mother's side, his coat drenched till he looked like skin and bones. He shivered now and then against her. Reaching down, she nuzzled her ebony boy gently and then turned her head to her other side to give Balderdash the same treatment, but to her surprise, the spotted boy was gone.

With an almost wild frantic look in her eyes, she glanced at Nikola, before her limbs carried her toward the water. Despite her exhausted state, she trudged on till the water licked her knees. She gave out a shrill whinny, hoping the boy would return it, but she heard nothing. The golden mare collapsed into the water, but she held her head high as if she would see him come out of the wet darkness.
