 Somewhere else, the winter wind moves as though it has a mind of it’s own- a mind that knows well enough to abandon the desert. The only thing that has changed in the dunes with the shift of the seasons was that the nights had been lulled to a cooler tempurate, and the sand held a sort of chill that was uncomfortable for the desert stallion. Other than that, he found comfort in the heat that rose up off the sands during the day, and even while it did not parch his throat and make his skin froth in a sweaty lather, the heat lay like a thick blanket over his back and comforted him before the fall of night.
Standing near the edge of the small oasis that he had only recently added to his home, adding to the number of current watering holes available to his herd, the golden haired stallion stooped his face, sniffing at the still water before taking a careful sip. Testing the water was his duty, he imagined, as any herd stallion would do in order to procure the health and safety of his family. While a little muddy tasting, the watering hole would do well enough for those that wandered too far into the desert and were in need of water for refueling. For now, though, he did not suspect that many would find him standing out here in the open, all on his lonesome. A soft wind brushes his dry mane across his neck and pulls lightly at his tail, tugging him away from the depths of the sandy ocean and back towards the coast, where it was cooler and there was more to eat. For now though, Badr allows his legs to crumple and for his body to hit the sand so as to allow him to lounge out in the sun into night came and he would make the journey back to the main oasis that housed his herd… badr The misguided jailbird. stallion. flaxen liver chestnut. unknown crossbreed. ee aa ff. fifteen & three hands. eight years. russell. |
